What if U open up a gym where all the work out equipment generated electricity then I turn around and resell that shit?

You should delete anon. Not a bad idea. Might get scalped. Kudos if original, I’ve been in a fog lately nice to see some people are able to think.

Ackchyually your idea is false, because of these simple little facts. First of all it would be considered unethical to extract energy from living human beings. Second of all you're a giant faggot.

Gyms use more electricity than they produce? A/C, lights, etc. Doubt they would produce enough electricity to even cover the gym itself.

>> No.23582489

don't think youd make enough money from the electricity to pay for the maintenance of the machines and up front cost

They already do this in some night clubs in Europe. The floor turns the kinetic energy created by dancing into power. Not sure it generates enough to sell back to the electric company but it reduces the electric bill.

Do you not understand the most valuable aspects of a brainstorming session? Do you not understand 4chan? Of course your idea, as presented , seems infeasible. Some modifications, and it could be profitable. Wonder if the anon that has the profitable idea will be as naive and share it with you. Does this board even conduct actual 'business' in any fashion, at all? Have you all just watched too many movies?

Reduce costs so the gym subscription can be lower and be alot most price competitive?

>> No.23583389

>>23583255
You can do it to reduce costs but I doubt you can price gauge Planet Fitness. They make money by being so cheap people are okay keeping their membership despite never going to the gym. Most gyms operate this way. If every paying member used the gym regularly, maintenance of the equipment would out pace revenue.

>> No.23583482

some gyms actually already do this. look forward to spending money on special electric generating treadmills/bikes and then losing money. you need a massive amount of human kinetic energy to output a significant amount of electrical energy. you might as well buy solar panels.

/fit/izen here.

Machines are absolute shit in building muscle. Free weights will always be the way to go and the most optimal. Maybe you’d make money off the s o y s but any one thats actually seriously about fitness avoids machines

>> No.23585525

>>23585158
Yeah but the purpose of a machine is to be there for people that dont have any clue of what they re doing, you can really fuck yourself if you dont know on how to use a proper form during free weights exercises.

basically, fuck off you elitist gym rat

You are fucking retarded if you think there is anything magical about using a free weight vs a machine. The overload principle applies to muscle regardless of whether you're on a machine or a free weight and you are an empty-headed memester to claim otherwise.

What you are describing is literally the plot of a black mirror episode where the pigmented protagonist slaves away in the gym daily to produce electricity so his commune block leader can sell it on the decentralized market.

It's natural movements, hardly any thought or training required to do a normal squat or bench press. Machines are just for looks because they do 80% of the work for you. Basically for women who need good props in their photos so they can wear cute, yoga pants and sports bras.

The fit sticky is literally all you need, good enough for 99% of people. Fitness is not some mystical subject, the principles are well understood. The confusing shit is either snake oil or only for advanced athletes.

As for OPs idea you should watch the video where a pro cyclist tries to power a toaster. The idea that a bunch of soccer moms and normies (i.e. the people who sit on the cardio equipment at the gym for a long time) would generate enough power at the gym to cover air con, lights, tvs, music, hot water etc... at the gym is laughable. Much better off putting solar on the roof or, even better just saying that your equipment is hooked up to the grid for the gimmick marketing.

>> No.23586684

>>23581887
Why don’t they just make a onahole that could generate electricity? Who needs solar when you can just jerk off. In the future it will be profitable enough to pay people tiny bits of currency to jerk off.

>> No.23587812

Machines will still help build muscle but free weights are better because your muscles have to work in stabilizing the weights while you're lifting. Machines are already steadying the weight so you're merely pushing against the weight. But obviously both work so don't take too much heed of what that guy said. Machines might be better when you're starting out but if you can lift heavy free weights with proper form then go for it.

This is my take on the situation anyway. I am no expert on weight lifting.

>> No.23588089

I don't think these machines even exist
so there's your profit opportunity, buildings these useless contraptions and let the onions eco-friendly crowd buy them. They love nonsensical shit that isn't actually eco-friendly.
