Not true. It's owning production, which comes with nationalization and tax renegotiation risk. If things get very crazy, nationalization risk increases significantly. Even if nationalization doesn't happen, nations can force renegotiations if prior negotiations were at much lower prices. I'm not saying miners are bad, I've owned them and will buy again after we get some stimulus, but to say it's equal to owning physical is way too generous. What's bad is that a lot of the miners are priced with zero risk just due to recency bias. People aren't really worried about this so they don't price it in, but they should.

People are starting to wake up to the empty abilities of the Fed and that they really can't create the inflation everyone thinks they can. So it will take Congress to do it. It's a very likely thing that they do put us into hyperinflation at some point, but it's not in the near term. Until they do any stimulus it's all about deflation I'm afraid. If you are playing paper PM products you are going to feel pain and if you are playing with leverage, you are playing with fire. If you're just a stacker, then keep buying the dips.
