How is that a source?

A source. I need a source.

Sorry, I mean I need a source that explicitly states your argument. This is just tangential to the discussion.

No, you can't make inferences and observations from the sources you've gathered. Any additional comments from you MUST be a subset of the information from the sources you've gathered.

You can't make normative statements from empirical evidence.

Do you have a degree in that field?

A college degree? In that field?

Then your arguments are invalid.

No, it doesn't matter how close those data points are correlated. Correlation does not equal causation.

Correlation does not equal causation.

CORRELATION. DOES. NOT. EQUAL. CAUSATION.

>flu
The flu is a flu virus. They shut the economy down over a common cold virus. Pretty big difference there, bub. As someone who has had two different types of flu and a heap of various common colds including the novel sars-cov-2 I find it appalling that people are trying to downplay the flu in such a way. Hands down the, sickest I've ever been. Covid19 was comparatively mild. I had to get tested again for work last week after vomiting and diarrhea with headaches. I thought I already went through covid a few months back. I kind of had a feeling it was way too bad to be covid and they gave me the bad a couple days ago, covid negative. Still got Zofran though. Three days straight of vomiting and I'm almost back to myself. They didn't bother looking at if it's a virus or bacteria and said to just keep trying to keep fluids down. It wasn't as bad as flu but it was close, I'm still cramping and fighting occasional waves of nausea, but it's way worse than covid.
Don't call covid a flu because it downplays the suffering of people who've actually been sick.

We receive government funding for every test and covid death so we are very loose with the definitions. Think car wrecks and end stage, cancer. Those things no longer kill people because it's more profitable to call them covid deaths. The actual covid are all old and or fat too. Restaurants here are very lax in sanitation and no matter how good your immune system is its tough to fend off a virus that makes you puke everywhere. I would advise avoiding places that hire blacks. I'm not saying it's a bad infection control move, but was your country really wiped out by a 20% change in hospital beds? Most first world places have a much greater buffer than that. We run out of staff long before we run out of beds and hospitals. The US has so many we are shutting down entire hospitals for the last few years just because demand is not enough to keep them running. Most of our hospitals are non profit too so it's not even a shit margins thing. I think there is more to your story that they are not telling you. Well that was the plan all along. If you just read the new book by Klaus Schwab, the chairman of the World Economic Forum, Covid 19 The Great Reset he admits that the pandemic is much milder than previous ones (page 247) and talks about how we must not "let a good crisis go to waste".(page 145)
He says that in the future there will only be jobs for the highly educated and intelligent at the top, and simple jobs for the low intelligent people at the bottom.
There will be no jobs for those in the middle rank, the middle class.
Except it's not in the future, it's now. The lockdowns are destroying small and medium sized businesses and transfering their market share to large corporations.
It's not even that they're hiding their plans, they're announcing them out in the open.

Virus has 2 components:
Gene payload which must infect a cell, once these genes are in a cell they force the cell to manufacture protein and enter those proteins with the same gene making more viruses
The second component is the viral vector which is generally 3 large proteins attached together, this part of the virus is used to protect the genes and for infection to put the gene in the cell
It does not eat. It just infects, changes your cells to force manufacture of itself, and infects more. Its "death" is called attenuation or denaturation, not killing because its not a cell, which could be considered living, or an organism

to reproduce it hijacks the cell and the cell makes new viruses. Where do the molecules for those viruses come from? The cell itself.
Those molecules should be used to help the cell survive but instead go to the virus.

Depends on your definition of eating. It doesn't consume energy to exist, only to reproduce. While bacteria and everything else alive requires energy constantly.

Even then, the energy is consumed by the cell. The infecting virus, if it was even alive, is dead at this point.

It also cannot move, it doesn't have any senses and doesn't respond to any stimuli. It's basically a fancy box with needles for gene delivery.

meh, even on our level eating is only a temporary measure to continue our genetic existence. We only borrow those molecules we assimilate, then we die and give them away again. They're just tools to reproduce the dna.

>>23577662
>Depends on your definition of eating. It doesn't consume energy to exist, only to reproduce.
It does, it uses energy to exist for as long as it takes to reproduce. It doesn't need to move, it's structured so its environment does it for it. Like Stephen Hawking, he didn't need to move either, he got his environment to do it for him. Does that mean he wasn't alive?

OK I'm going on a tangent here but what the hell.
sure, we have the ability to create simple life. We can make viruses. We can make robots that copy single-celled organism behavior. We can reproduce babies artificially and cross humans with pigs already. So sure.

But we cannot create sentient life with free will like we have. And we will fail at ("true") AI, if we continue to expect it will simply "acquire" consciousness from some basic logical building blocks that we can do now. Learning consciousness takes millions of year of evolution of real-time trial and error. Reality works on a certain time-scale and that means AI cannot learn, like we learned as a species, on any shorter time than that time-scale. Sure, we can replicate certain traits that we already evolved. But we cannot replicate an entire human yet from scratch.

It would at this point still be easier to augment existing humans with the data processing capacities of computers. I think that's the real way forward.
