There is no right answer for this. Mostly personal preference and security vs. convenience.
Hot storage (with Spark support) - XUMM or Exodus.
Cold storage - Ledger/Trezor or Paper/Metal Wallet

xrp token not needed, cross border settlements can be performed through other tokens such jpmcoin running through xinfin network (a fork of jpm quorum) using Chainlink oracles. Xinfin will be tokenizing a multitude of assets through its own platform (powered by Chainlink oracles), so why does xrp need to be involved in the first place?

I know, bro. You aren't alone. Take some time to learn to compartmentalize the larger realities of the world away from the day-to-day. The sad part of the horror show that is our realoty is that most people don't know, don't want to know, and will reject anyone who tries to wake them up. Drop some hints when you're getting to know someone new and see if they bite. If not, go into normie mode. It's a difficult road you've chosen, but there are ways of handling it that don't involve shunning NPCs and eschewing social contact. All of human nature is Sisyphean, and this is just part of the boulder you have to roll.

Good luck, anon. WAGMI

I'm not DS. Got my start in RE where I saw first hand how lucrative pimping fiat-debt was. About two years ago I moved my RE debt gainz into PMs and then earlier this year I stumbled into XRP.

Will say the few presentations I've seen from DS, I've been impressed. Dude knows his stuff and knows far more than I.

Big fan of the geopolitical angle also and will give a nod to any source who can present aspects of it in a new angle, even the TWTR trollz. Peronsally find (((Georege Friedman))), Jim Rickards, William Strauss and Neil Howe, etc. faciniating and I see "the reset" as going beyond a monetary reset and encompassing a sociatal reset (think the 4th Turning from Strauss & Howe or Friedman's ID'ing the two cycles America runs on converging at the same time in the early 2020's.)

I'd argue anyone saying [ x ] price by [ y ] date is bullshitting as anyone privy to this level of info also knows they'll be 86'd if they leak. Plus setting one's expectations on dates vs milestones will just lead to premature disappointment - - think even UHNWI mentioned "plans [timing] change", so focus on milestones.

I'm guessing before the public reveal of the economic reset [read: orderly evacuation of assets held by the public to a new currency and controlled demolition of fiat inflated debt bubbles] the backend of the new system must be rock solid as when this happens, it's going to happen fast. Normies are already going to freak out, and if the new financial system glitches on day 0, it'll stampede the crowds.

In a post-Bretton Woods system, an exchange mechanism will be required and XRP strikes me as the front runner to become the spiritual successor to the XDR - the spiritual successor to the stillborn bancor. Furthermore, XRP ledger "compliance" by other countries allows the US to replace SWIFT without forfeiting the economic advantages controlling the world's payment system...in other words, the US will still be able to freeze out state actors it doesn't like.

>Can you expand on what you think the societal reset will be?

I'll try but these two resources do a far better job than I could:

> The Storm Before the Calm / (((George Friedman)))
> The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy / William Strauss & Neil Howe

As humans, we go through cycles. Wealth cycles, generational cycles, values cycles, and so on. Strauss and Howe ID'd a pattern going back to the 1500's (I think) showing the same four cycles, which they called turnings.

Think of a turning like a season lasting about twenty years or so and corresponding to the seasons.

> 1st turning / HIGH / Spring / Vday - JKF assn.
> 2nd turning / AWAKENING / Summer / JFK assn - Regan
> 3rd turning / UNRAVELING / Fall / Regan - 9/11
> 4th turning / CRISIS / Winter / 9/11 ...

While many things shift one way then shift back as the turning progress, a key component is the idea of the individual vs that of the group. The West is too focused on the individual/feeling vs. the collective good/doing, which is to be expected in the unraveling & crisis turning. We've become decadent and hedonistic in our beliefs, meaning as a society, we can feel everything but do nothing. This is the opposite of the high where society can do anything but feel nothing. The 4th turning, the crisis, is what shocks society out of its complacency, unifies it, wakes it up, and refocuses it on big, collective goals vs individual achievements.

People are united by a common cause/problem and in doing so clears away the old, failed systems and replaces them with new ones. We realize the collective good requires individual sacrifice. This in turn paves the way for the rebirth (the high/spring), which in turn paves the way for the next unraveling, where the systems made by the high grow too oppressive on the individual and need to be disrupted.

> orderly evacuation of assets held by the public to a new currency and controlled demolition of fiat inflated debt bubbles
> What would that mean? Stocks? Housing?

No one really knows what anything is really worth due to the fiat problem. In a world of relative fiat there's no fixed north star for us to orient ourselves too.

Historically the answer to this was gold, and to be fair to gold it's trying to do its job in signaling the falling value of fiat, but I suspect the price is being suppressed by (((someone))) as even normies know a mooning gold price means something's up.

All assets need to be repriced in their fair value but we currently lack a tool to accurately report fair value (this is what I learned from RE).

If you own a home, it's clearly worth SOMETHING but how MUCH that something is and how much you could get for other things if you sold is unclear. Ditto for stocks, PMs, etc.

Here's the catch: if you wave the magic wand and take the debt chains off the public, you'll also destroy the paper value of real assets across the board.

You know how Lynette Zang likes to talk about buying up income-producing RE after the reset - this is what she's referring to. People who owe (in paper) far more than what the market can pay (in paper) as the market no longer has access to cheap debt (fucking paper!) to offer inflated (paper) prices to the seller.

She's assuming if the debt scheme implodes and people can no longer borrow insane amounts at insane rates, any asset will become worthless on paper as debt can't inflate up the price. Moreover, existing borrowers will simply walk away from their underwater homes as it's cheaper for them to bail on their mortgage than try to service it. As more and more homes hit the market there are fewer and fewer buyers meaning prices fall/correct back to what people can actually pay.

She's not wrong from a logical standpoint, but her thinking is linear, not cyclical...and that's her blind spot.

For a ‘3rd world’ currency fren.

Read all of the central bank reports on CBDCs - none of them will agree to an external currency. The whole lure of the CBDC to them is the ultimate control it gives them - total power over monetary policy, ability to enforce capital controls, etc., etc..

XLM will do well. It’ll be used in large parts of the world. But not anywhere with a strong central bank (at least, not in an official capacity, in the same way as whole you *can* use Euros to pay for things in the US - that’s between you and the vendor and not actually legal tender)

people add up numbers willy nilly to get a result, they let confirmation bias factor into it sometimes. i wish i could make some sort of probabilistic AI to evaluate 'coincidences' with some degree of reason and filter out the nonsense

XRP could moon this year, or next, or even the year after, or even...

Right now, it doesn’t really have any challengers for what it’s trying to do (the JPM Coin is the first serious contender, but I don’t think other banks - particularly EU banks - will want one of their competitors effectively owing and operating the global cross border system. Look at SWIFT - put together by a consortium, not just one player).

So for now, XRP is the only standard and we’ve just got to hodl. It’ll happen when it happens.

That’s separate of course to baba. For him, it’s eoy or rope. His schtick is interesting in as much as it whiles away the hours while we wait for liftoff, but if it turns out he was wrong about eoy, or he changes what “eoy” means, he can get fucked. The entire panic and push to CBDCs has nothing to do with failing economics or any great reset or any other nonsense. It has to do with Libra.

The thought of an external currency taking control away from governments and central banks rightly scared the shot out of them.

You’ll continue to pay for your Big Mac with dollars, only the dollars will be digital soon - so the speed thing is irrelevant because CBDCs will compete on that front.

I would be surprised if they don’t make almost every crypto illegal or regulate them out of existence. Of XLM ever looked to be gaining mass use in the EU or US, they’d burn it to the ground.

Like I said, just read the reports on CBDCs. Hell, just read the ECB’s. They are not keen on sharing and this move represents a chance for them to design the world they want - they’re not going to lose that chance by allowing any other competitors in on the game.

You have very poor literacy if that’s what you’ve understood from my posts.

The great draw of CBDCs is control. Almost total control over their monetary supply. The ECBs report talked a lot about dollarisation and offshoring of funds. They went as far as to consider only allowing EU citizens to use the proposed new CBDC (this will obviously end up as the CBDC must be used in the EU). They’re very much planning to use CBDCs to prevent competition from other currencies/CBDCs.

That is my entire argument against XLM being anything other than a 3rd world currency. Why would CBs be so concerned about competition, only to allow a third party (XLM) in anyway?

So for the 4th time: I hope you make it on XLM (as well as XRP).

It’s not competing with CBDCs. It’s the bridge between them. That’s the beauty of it and that’s why it is a sure thing: it is not competing with anyone.

When they talk about public/private partnerships - the public is the CBDC (controlled entirely by the relevant nation), the private is XRP.

What you’re arguing for XLM is markedly different. You’re arguing for it as a direct competitor.

akon is not that rich but i think hes more of the middleman / representative in this situation. africa is a huge continent with vast natural resources and insane projected population growth. remember that even if the african IQ is 85, if the african population in 2050 is 2.49 billion. @ 85 iq sd 15 iq , 32% of the populatoin has an IQ above 100. so 2.49 billion * .32 = 790 million people in >100 iq range. its going to be a huge economy. even if its mostly resource extraction, the elites want to tap into that market. akon and akoin are just vehicles for their africa project which invovles a 3rd world currency
