If Biden is gonna win and raise your taxes, would it make sense to sell all the stocks you’re up on now, and immediately buy them back, so you pay this year’s capital gains rates?

if Biden wins I see it as being likely that a large number of people will cash out this year yes

I feel the same I’m majority DIA waiting till post election to make moves, but is that to obvious and priced in? Maybe nothing happens and the run immediately starts the next day? Fucking hate that US politics has become tribal competition...

I think it's priced in. I haven't sold anything but I'm cautious about buying more right now. I think i may regret being too cautious.

Honestly my biggest worry is trump winning, and the radical left throwing the absolute most mega tantrum riots across US cities. Fucking up traffic, burning buildings, actively fighting police I’m not trying to sound like a doomer but after the St Floyd riots that leveled Minneapolis and many other cities I fear a trump reelection would cause ultimate chaos amongst the radical left to the cult mentality of willing to destroy cities like we’ve never seen. Mob mentality is real and it’s scary plus GenZ is absolutely brainwashed and will be the “leaders” of this Marxist movement. Makes me worried for markets

Are you seriously suggesting the same thing won't happen with the right if Biden wins? Cities are fucked for all of November no matter what

>> No.23514094

Yes I am. You sure those Trump supporters are going straight to loot the local Target and march the streets after midnight chanting? The right won’t do shit they never will if Biden wins we go back to as normal as ever within weeks

>> No.23514159

>>23512922

yes. how can we forget the chaos that ensued from the left after trump won 4 years ago. The country sure did burn.

Have you been paying any attention to the countless riots and growing leftist violence across the country since May? I hope I’m wrong but I don’t believe if Trump wins the left will be like all “all shucks we’ll get them next 4 years”. You gotta realize these kids are brainwashed to believe trump is absolute evil and will justify rioting, destruction, and violence if it means they’re symbolically fighting the system from their warped perspective

Markets will probably only dip 1-2% as the votes are being counted, same as last time.

If we get a scenario when all the mail in votes are being counted and it could go 50/50 and it drags on for weeks then we will really begin to drop, similarly to this year mid March with COVID - The market hates uncertainty.
