Hey guys,

I was thinking of storing my 24 seed words in an encrypted text file on an encrypted USB (like the picture I attached).

Do you guys think this is a good idea?

you should use an encrypted container that isn't implemented by the hardware. e.g. veracrypt, cryfs, luks

And once again dubs, wtf is happening.
Already got it on paper, anon.

Triple Dubs here. This is truly a crazy thread.

Remember Anons to not put it on an easy location. If the FEDS ever come they'll try to take your crypto away. We can't let (((Them))) win!

better have mutiple copies of that USB plus use archival DVD+R, shit I use 30 year DVD-RAM because its a dead medium and I bought a fuck ton of brand new discs at a thrift store.

wouldn't want your flash media to neck itself all of a sudden while it sits in a safe somewhere

Here is my top tip. Firstly most people lose their keys etc not from being hacked but losing shit. Here is a solution. Write your 24 word password in plain site. Literally write it in some of you favourite books or even email yourself them. BUT you do a number of things. You can hide the words in an innocent looking list like a spelling test or write some sentences with the first or last word being the password. You can just make it look like you have these words and you wrote down the meaning of the word or maybe you can write another translation next to then so they look like you are just learning those words.

But a very simple one is this. Simply memorise the first ot last word and then replace with a wrong word. Then all you got to remember is one word which you can write down also. No one with these methods are gonna be able to steal your shit. Making a fucking metal card password has got to be the dumbest thing I ever heard.

metal card key storage is for people who have secure physical storage but are worried about floods/fire.

Nothing is 100% but flash media does get destroyed by fire. Metal has a better chance of surviving.

use a hardware wallet.
you can get one for around the same price. simpler to lose and you can't accidentally make a brainlet mistake when setting it up.

for an encrypted usb to work, you would want a really secure password. Something like 40 random characters would work. If you try using english words it'll be much easier to crack because there's less possibilities.
