Op is right unfortunately. I have been living through evidence of it the past few days. Contentment can only come from within, material gains are meaningless as soon as you get them, and that's the real kicker - you spend years imagining how happy & relieved you'll be when you achieve your material / financial ambitions, then when they are suddenly reality, you stand there wondering why it doesn't feel anything like you expected. Instead of happiness, relief and excitement, there only emptiness and numbness, may be even slight anxiety. It's this disconnect between what you actually feel and what you expected youd feel which is the surprise. Poor fags will laugh, but just wait until you get money too, and you'll feel how meaningless the reality is

Yeah no, money brings you no happiness because you're a talentless loser who couldn't enjoy life in the first place.
Give it to my mother and despite her anger issues, he depression, her insecurities, he lack of technical skills and foresight in everything, she is more capable of exuding her happy chemicals than any of you sad sacks of shit from the 1930s.

Me? I will try to murder everyone and the more depressed, angry, sad I get the more stubborn I will get to stay in this world even if it makes me miserable.
I will even breed a new race of super soldiers to share my pain.
I will torture every last one of you till you understand my pain.

What money brings which work doesn't bring is ignorance and neglectfulness. Working makes you concentrate and makes you hope for better things and even makes you appreciate the tiny amounts of free time you have.
Money in the hands of procrastinating losers like you turns you into a dog that caught the car, but found the wheels moving aren't alive.

It's because you're stupid and what you were doing in your spare time wasn't worthwhile to begin with.
>>23482236
And then there's idiots like these with ABSOLUTELY 0 IMAGINATION.

I have seen people with 0 imagination who all they can think of is; muh house with green grassfields and forest nearby, maids to take care of the dogs, muh travelling, muh great food, muh not having to wake up at 7AM every day.

But man your generation 100% deserves its name; gen-Z(zombie). Zoomers are mentally ill.

when I was 20 years old for a period of about a month I had a bunch of severe panic attacks, I felt like I was dying every single hour of the day. One night during this month as I was trying to fall asleep I began reliving every single future aspiration in my life, every single thing I thought would make me happy. Jobs, prestige, popularity, lifestyle, money, a certain car, a certain apartment in a certain city, clothes, hot women ect. It was all extremely vivid, I felt like I was hallucinating and was actually living it. However through it all I felt exactly the same. Nothing changed. When I realized this I started panicking because the built up defense mechanism that kept me from not contemplating suicide, everything that gave my life purpose disintegrated.
I know live a very sparten lifestyle. I pursue things with no expectation of fulfillment at the end of the road, only the enjoyment of the process. All my goals have nothing to do with money. Not to say I have no ambitions, the opposite, some of them are ridiculous and absurd, but they are nothing materialistic. I just want to create value, true value, not defined by a dollar sign

I can relate to this based on other things in my life so far.
For the longest time, I was so excited to get all my streaming/video recording equipment from the mail. The wait was particularly long for a single part I was waiting for. It was the last piece I needed. I knew that once I got that piece, everything would be set into motion. I would become the creator I had always wanted to be--because I would then have all the equipment I needed, right?
Wrong.
Something inside yourself has to really click before you're able to make that sort of stuff happen. It's not the materials you receive. It never has been.

Having money is way better than not having money.
Ofcourse it doesn't make me "super happy all the time" like advertisements promised you, if you truly believe that you're a moron.
But money makes me able to buy healthy food, buy good looking clothes, rent a nice place to live, go to restaurants and bars with my friends without worrying about money,...
I don't have to plan my finances and I can just comfy live out my life, doing what I want.

You'll still need a carreer to be fulfilled yes, be it either music or teaching or nursing or whatever you want. The point is that you can do what you want now. But you still have to do things to make you fulfilled because that is true happiness.

I'm going back to college now because I want to be a psychiatrist.

Also, your unhappiness or happiness isn't necessarily your fault or personal responsibility; that's a very individualistic and neoliberal approach to happiness.

Happiness can also mean a society in which its people unite and strive towards a common goal like: reason, progress, science.
Or another like: nation (nat-soc)

Multiculutral, stressful, overworked, nihilistic societies nowadays are poisonous for your psyche. And nothing really you can do about it besides voting or becoming someone who fights for change yourself.

Money can and has made me happy. Literally better than sex, which as it turns out is one of the many things money can get you. Sex also can and does make me happy. Maym I'm a broken person but good things bring me joy, and perhaps even stranger to most people is the fact that bad things make me unhappy.
