Heres an interesting piece of ore, its similar to what I find often out here near Barkerville. Notice how the gold prefers the galena than the pyrite.

Do these seem legit. I found one at a LCS, but it was their last, and my other regular LCS doesn't have them at all. I like the design and it's something linked to Texas history, as the Rangers used to make badges out of them.

I think you're confused, 90% silver does not mean silver that weighs 90% of a troy ounce. It means 90% of the composition is made of silver. I have many 90% dimes quarters and half dollars, and I guarantee you they aren't worth 20 something dollars. Look at pic related, melt value is 21.46, multiply that by 20 and youre at ~420, its bidding higher than that with 4 days remaining, youre gonna look at some brutal bids in the final seconds with all that activity.

Ok the highest I ve ever seen a junior explorer go was around $20 and it stayed there for about a day than slowly fell back to around $7. Explorers havent typically "moon shot" like crazy, but now with how some people are going into them anything could happen. Also more often than not a huge shoot up for a junior explorer is because of a pump and dump, see Equity metals corp for an example. Its better to see a slow creep up than a serious rise in my opinion. Remember though thats just my anecdotal evidence, I am not very good at tracking the way stock roles unless it has something to do with news.
>>23458313
As for your second question, lets look at Pretium Resources for an example of a junior that went big. They had the right property, the right guys and did extensive exploration work, and with help built one of BCs leading gold mines. They are currently at $16 a share. Thats probably as high as they will go. They are stable, operating a mine and quietly exploring their territory with their neighbors Seabridge. Remember that explorers go up in value as they increase the value of their property and with the likelyhood of a mine being build from it. The better the drill results, the easier it is to attract interest. The more interest the more people buy in and the project expands. I hope this is good enough.

an idea my grand father had was to get a small gold leaf for our Christmas tree each year. Their made by a couple different companies, most in 22 or similar gold up to an ounce. We would get the 5 gram ones every year. They look amazing and become keepsakes. When I turned 21 and had moved out fully, we split the collection up between myself, my sister and my parents. I ll message my mom and ask about them, I think the Canadian Mint still makes them.

Did you listen to that yet? Worth the time?

I like to listen to MMT stuff just to see where they are coming from. John Cochrane has some good counter points, as does Lacey Hunt. Basically if you have to tax to stop inflation, its basically the same dynamic as balancing a budget.

Definitely worth the awareness because Kamala Harris could very well become president with an all blue congress and implement MMT.

NI 43-101 reports were implemented as a standardized geological and resource report for Canadian based mining companies to use after the Brex scandal in 1990s. The scandal destroyed confidence in small scale miners and explorers, so companies and Canadian legislation devised the National Instrument 43-101 reporting system to weed out fraud within the sector. A company submits a 43-101 compliant report as a legal explanation of resources and geology on an exploration or mining project. It gets technical fast, but basically if you lie and get caught on a 43-101 consider your ass done for in the mining sector. The reporting strategy has also been taken up in other countries such as south Africa and australia under different names as well.

Have you considered arbitrage with PMs, anon? It'll get you some money while you're waiting for price action.
Buy the cheapest silver coins you can get at your LCS (usually that's going to be foreign junk silver), then simply sell it on Ebay. You'll come out ahead even after all the fees. Pic related, a coin most shops would have trouble unloading at spot selling for several times what it's worth.

I'll invest soon. But they definitely got an unfavorable financing deal just now. They can probably pay it back in full in 3-5 years if everything goes according to their schedule. It's really a question of whether they'll really be able to ramp up into full production in the span of one year like they've estimated. I know they have everything in place on-site but you never know. With a debt of over $30M plus interest, they'll probably end up paying about $40M or so. And with their mineral reserve NPV5 of $75M they'll end up making at least $35M over the course of 6.5 LOM (that's a low estimate, they'll probably make more from their reserves). Can't wait to see them begin drilling more near the mine site but they'll probably pay off their financing first.

Over 10% interest. That's pretty high.
>Aun will be at 1/4-1/3 the production of first majestic within a year
Therein lies the risk, albeit a small one. They might not be able to ramp up their production in schedule. They probably will but the risk is there, and if they fall behind from their schedule their debt payments fall from their schedule, meaning it could cost them millions.

You definitely have to read up on mining stocks. Hecla seems like big company and their financials seem good on a glance so I guess you didn't make a terrible investment. Not sure as I don't know anything about them. You should try to understand what are good grades/amounts at least, and if you invest in smaller companies you have to have a little deeper understanding of the industry, such as how to read drilling results

This thread makes me miss my great grandma. One time she took me with her to the bank to deposit the final gold coin she wanted to add to her safe deposit box. Little thing was pretty heavy because it was stuffed full of 99 1.oz krugerrands and maple leaves. My great aunt and grandfather ended up splitting them. I didn't really get into collecting and building my stack until a couple of years after she passed, unfortunately. She had left me a box full of stuff and there was a maria theresa thaler in there. Got me interested in coinage and I started researching and buying some online. I even lucked out last year and managed to pick up a 1925 peace dollar while asking after eisenhowers at the bank. I keep it as my lucky dollar in a protector with the thaler. Wish I could've gotten into this earlier so I could've talked to her about coins, but maybe I just wish I could talk to her again. Also wish I had bit the bullet and picked up a few gold coins I had been eyeballing back before corona went into full swing. I was gonna post my coins but now I'm kinda bummed out and don't want to dig them out of their hiding place.

I'm phoneposting now but I'll get back home in about three hours. I can post some good informative links and answer some questions to the best of my ability when I get back from work. In short though: you want to look at a company's project portfolio and see what kinds of properties they hold. Properties need a litany of permits, infrastructure and research before mining can actually begin so it's a long process. Some properties change ownership many times and may take decades before production actually begins. There are also many risks related to mines and their properties and companies & projects can fail for a number of reasons. They're a risky investment so it's best to know what you're investing into. I'll get back to you about what to look out for when researching a miner's project portfolio

I stuck to BP for a very particular reason. I was tracking their debt and fine repayments for the Deep Horizon spill. I knew they were ending their repayments in a couple months, and then that money would be re-organized for operations. So, or BP I grabbed some stock a month or two before that happened. When it did, my prediction was correct and it rose.

For CLF, I believe this was an iron ore mine I invested in in 2016. It was struggling, doing a bunch of nothing, but I kept reading that down the line they may merge with another company. I bought them at $1.65, they merged, I sold around $6, and make about 20k off of it. After Trump won though, it shot up again and I missed that bit.

I hadn't touched stocks in years, so I'm dipping my toe in the water again nowadays.

Honestly I keep thinking I could have just bought like 30 ounces of silver for this stock.

I tried the same concept with Hecla, basically I opened up about 15 different tabs of news stories/analysis/whatever, and read it until it all started to blend together and I felt I had a good picture in my head.

For oil, it's probably not much different than silver, just less volatile. See which oil companies are pushing hardest to be "energy" companies, and their success and failure rates and expected growth etc etc. Bare in mind, if you're collecting silver, and these companies are planting acres of solar panels, you may see a bump in silver prices as well.

Alright, home sweet home. Let's get started.

First off, follow this link to understand the difference between Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves, and the general accuracy of different types of mineral resource/reserve estimates:

Next, a guide for interpreting drilling results, also includes some nice extra info like basic geology that's good to know (don't worry you don't need to know anything about rocks to understand mining stonks, I don't know about those either):
https://www.amscot.com.au/Download/Download?file=Interpretation_of_Resource_Company_Announcements_-_Overview.pdf
Here's more about drilling -- what's considered a good drilling result as well as important information about what grades of which metal are considered high grade:
https://www.mining.com/web/making-the-grade-understanding-exploration-results/

I think that's good enough to get you started. Pic related is about how a typical mine begins production, to give you a bigger picture of the way the mining industry operates. If you feel the need to ask some questions, be sure to ask. I'm not an expert but I'd say I understand most things pretty well. There are also many knowledgeable people on this general, I like to consult Pan Man about technical stuff like the geology of a property. He's a professional so he knows his stuff. Lots of smart people on /pmg/ so ask away if you need to know about anything

Thank you brother, you're a godsend. I'll be reading these over throughout the day and hopefully I will make more informed decisions. Thank you for following up on that.

ALSO: didn't want to waste two posts. Can anyone wrangle up some good sites for buying silver bullion statues? I know they're fairly common, and I know that the premium is high because you're paying for the "numismatic" value of the statue, but I am in particular looking for a Saint Barbara religious statue, or any sort of Godzilla kaiju statues. I'm aware of the dinosaur statues on ebay and I think JM Bullion, I'm just trying to see if they're offered anywhere else at a decent price.

No problem. Be sure to read each project's Economic Assessments and Feasibility Studies (PFS, DFS) if you feel the need to really dig into (heh) the specifics of a project. They contain information like projected IRR% (Internal Rate of Return) and expenditures. Even more important than the grade of the mined ore is the economic feasibility. A very important figure is AISC (All-In Sustaining Costs) per oz/t/lbs depending on what is being mined. So for example, if the AISC for an ounce of silver was US$10, the company would essentially have to pay ten dollars for each ounce of silver mined, meaning that they'd make about US$15 of profit per ounce of silver at current prices.

I'd ask you to take a look at Sotkamo Silver but first of all most here can't probably even invest in them and for some reason I can't for the life of me find their technical reports. Their website doesn't have them but I can find other texts that discuss it via Google. I've already invested in them and I believe they're a great company with a great future in store for their currently producing silver mine though.

So instead, could you take a look at the Australian Perseus Mining? I know next to nothing about them, other than that they have good financials and gold projects in West Africa.

why is no one paying attention to the IMFs recent videos(literally fucking 600 views, and the ones that have been open for a few days are like 3k views WTF!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjJ38XEUMAo

Their latest and last video for the year;
>"I think one important thing from my standpoint in terms of financial stability and risk assessment is not to be too complacent. Clearly the financial system was resilient, especially banks, because the infrastructure and framework was put into place during the global financial crisis 10 yrs ago. [it has] clearly made the financial system safer and more resilient. I'm talking about banks here.

>what i mean by not being too complacent is that it is true that there were a number of pressure points outside of the banking system in different sectors of financial systems. and in fact central banks only 10 years after the financial crisis have had to step in again and backstop particularly in the US and EU.

>I THINK WE NEED TO LEARN THE LESSON THAT NEEDS TO BE LEARNED HERE AND MAKE SURE THAT WE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE SYSTEM WORKED BECAUSE THERE WAS MASSIVE SUPPORT IN PLACE. SO WITHOUT THAT MASSIVE SUPPORT, I THINK IT WOULD BE UNCLEAR THE EXTENT THAT THE SYSTEM WOULD HAVE WORKED SMOOTHLY. SO IF THEY NEED TO RETHINK A LITTLE BIT THE REGULATORY ENVIRONEMT FOR NON BANK INSTITUTIONS

Ah, I see. Outside looking in to the discussion going on, it seems shareholders aren't happy about this acquisition though. You aren't really being paid much and the company loses most of its assets. The sale hasn't been approved of yet but the core shareholders have already accepted it, meaning it's likely to go through. Latest discussion on ceo.ca suggests that this is a total surprise for shareholders.

Seems like you got shafted bruv
