I appreciate the advice. I do exercise but recently I've been having weird joint problems and my fingers are morphing into pic related. I know I sound like a pussy, but constantly worrying about having cancer or someshit is wearing me down. You're right about sex though. Cut down on my fapping too.

I have the same exact problem, anon. And it doesn't get any better unless you channel this chaotic energy into something to make you great.

Sadly, I haven't been able to do it yet.

same here and indeed, getting into crypto didn't help
except I'm not a drug or weed addict, just waste my time on the internet instead of figuring my life out

Not the anon but, many attempt were made, I stopped the count. Did 4 months of nofap at some point, was pretty good, then I fucked it up.
The main issue apart from X or Y problem is the general issue of extreme dopamine exposure : weed, porn, web browsing, and crypto trading is just another of that list.
Everytime I leave my phone or my computer I become another person, the person I'm meant to be.
Pic very related: my life since I'm like 16 (I'm more of a regular guy than a total neet, but there's a battle within me on this).
Thank you for reading my blog post.

With me it was playing guitar and exercising that pulled me away from the addictions, but one slip up messes it all up.
I'm studying behaviourism currently, and it sounds like we would really benefit from applying the discipline to our lives.

The father of behaviourism is B.F Skinner (the guy who taught a mouse to press a button for food etc) so you could start by looking at his work around his therapeutic practices.

The link i'm adding is specifically about addictions and behaviour, but I found the parts about classical conditioning and operant conditioning to be helpful. I especially found the section on paired association to be the most relevant to NEETs like us. kek

It's a lot to take it, I know, but I feel the reason why therapy is not very effective for treating depression stems from the focus on mental issues, instead of the behaviour and environment around us.

Example: Taking your computer out of your bedroom would gradually help you get earlier nights as you're breaking the association of web browsing with sleeping. Over time you would subconsciously break the paired association in your mind of the two behaviours and consequently not crave the habit.
