Yeah I agree. My point was the many people use the whole "I'm passionate about my degree" as a coping mechanism for how useless it is. Obviously this mainly applies to non-STEM degrees, but I still think it still applies to Physics when you could be doing Engineering or Comp Sci and typically earn more money. Actually I say that but Computer Science and tech in general is pretty over-saturated.

not really. at least not where i come from (central europe). if you want to find work even at a semi-reputable company, degree matters (even if it's absolute dogshit bottom 20%). that's also because studying here is really cheap, compared to US standards e.g.

I know you're trying to respond to me but couldn't quite manage to press a button. But anyway that's completely irrelevant to my point. You have to be exceptional in your field in tech to actually make decent money. Just having a Computer Science degree is no longer enough. The more people you have in a field the more competition you have. We don't need more people in tech but we do need more engineers. I have no idea how this is a difficult concept to grasp.
