If you think this, you exist entirely outside of industry. A class of solution (Smart Contracts) loses all credibility outside of the IT department if it zoom zoom zoomies around and switches platforms after only a year or two.

The network effect won't allow it. At this point, look to layer 2 to make ETH work as plugins and scafolding solutions will leave crypto's reputation intact with the types who make decisions in government and enterprise.

It sucks, but the only way something else gets adopted is if a large player (China) shows up, won't use ETH, and you have to sell management on ALSO adopting what they're using so that you can interoperate with them.
