There was the announcement by Natasha Otomoski, the founder of the Haircomb Project, in March of 2019, that it had received $18 million from a partnership with a Russian fund that was supposedly aimed at developing blockchains. When that name was leaked, he claimed that the funding was going to help develop Haircomb for the “entirely different use case” of decentralized applications. That was then the end of the story.
