What the heck is a PoW coin? How is it different to a PoS coin?
>>233277proof of work - transactions are verified by throwing a fuckton of computing power at them, ie mining.proof of stake - the wallet/node that generates a new block (and hereby verifies the transactions submitted since the last block generation) is selected at random from all currently turned on wallets possessing coins (the more coins you have, the more likely you'll be picked to make a block). the reward for the block may go to whoever makes the block or be split between everybody as an interest. i think individual coins implement it differently.in the first case, in order to attack the network, you need a >50% share of its computing power, even for a short amount of time. then you can refuse transactions from being confirmed, even reverse transactions (and be able to spend same coins twice or more). in order to do this, you can rent mining rigs, you can make a pool and have others give you the hashing power for free, you can make a multipool and then point the unsuspecting miners at any low-hashrate currency you want, etc.in order to do the same for a proof of stake coin, you'd need to possess >50% of all coins in existence, which is obviously a lot more expensive than renting a bunch of rigs for a couple of hours.plus once you own 50% of the coin's entire market cap, destroying it is kinda counterproductive.

>>233481Well I can own any dog I want, the only pets you can't own here are the endangered species of parrots etc, plus you need a veterinary license for the poisonous stuff. As far as guns go, a license isn't that hard to get either. There's a psychological test, but other than that, getting a driving license takes longer. And I'm pretty sure the EU itself has no laws as far as kitchen knives go. Or combat knives, which are sold on every other corner here to anyone 18+. If the UK does have any, that's their problem.

>>233918guys, Blackcoin just broke 5500 satoshi and is heading for 6000, multipool is constantly buying and pumping up. I already doubled my BTC I invested, sold all shitcoins I was holding. We need this for PND. Maybe we won't get as much rising as Blackcoin does, but 10-20 satoshi seems possible. This multipool idea was the best invention in cryptocoin ever since the last months. It's as much as parasitic feeding from the shitcoin flood and generate value.
>>233959I thought the blackcoin multipool was down?
>>233959It's pretty smart, I must say. I wonder when there will be preconfigured multipools. Right now this is pretty much exclusive to run one for a coin.
>>233961They are running closed beta and expected to go public in the next days. Also, there will be more than one multipool.>>233962People will evolve from this idea and come up with new things soon. Also other PoS coins will probably join the train, this will be the kill for all PoW-only altcoins.

The beatuful thing with GPU mining is that, fixed a kh/s (adjusted for power cost), your ROI is in a fixed time (say 60 days). You invest 200$? Your ROI is 60 days. You invest 2000$? Your ROI is 60 days. Everything after ROI point is net gain. It's high risk, tho. I see a big crash in the altcoin sometime soon. Only the best will survive. tl;dr: mine PND, DOGE and LTC.
>>23442460 is a bit optimistic, I'd say 90 or 120.200$ in 60 days would mean, say you mine litecoin, you are getting $3,33 a day, or about 0.22 ltc a day, with the difficulty now you will make about 0.11 ltc a day with 750 khash/s which is very hard to do with just $200 investment
>>234429I knew somebody would crunch the numbers, if I was wrong enough. Thanks anon.
>>234433I didn't take electricity into calculation yet, which is usually pretty costly aswell.
Oh, it's just me still shilling the GPUC.The official storefront has launched.tfw i have just enough to afford half of the cheapest GPU there.>>234439Would you be so kind to calculate it?
>>234441I'm not going to, also because electricity prices are different around the world. After I started running my very modest 750khash/s miner 24/7 my monthly electricity bill went up by €20. I suppose electricity prices are a bit lower in the US
>>234448Oh. 20€, that's much.Per month, 2 months or 3 months?I have a tier based fare, so If i go over 2.500W I pay much more than if I stay under that, so that's another factor. Goodnight PNDs

>>235225interesting
>>235228I'm not amDOGE nor the other persone working on the multipool, but I'm making an other project that I hope people will find useful and that I'll try to launch toghether with with the public launch of the mutipool. For max exposition of PND.The project will be a user-defined dashboard, where you, as a user, decide the presentation of what and how you want to see your data (altcoin related, ofcourse). I do not have a screenshot on this box, but I'll try to deploy a public alpha later today (20:00 CET)
>>235223Not sure who exactly is starting it, but it'll be a new multipool that pays out in PND.

Do you all just ride the wave of pump & dump that others create for you? It's like letting these people shit in your mouths and saying "yumm niggercoin is the best evarr"Want real value? Bitcoin's value is derived from it's usefulness as a currency--and there is no reason to switch to your retarded niggercoin because everyone would lose money in the process except for you retards thinking it will happen when there is no reason to.Darkcoin offers legitimate usefulness with a distributed anonymity algorithm. Protecting your privacy is usefulness out of the box, and that's value.Through the grapevine Darksend should be completed in a couple weeks and publicly available. It's already rising today on speculation by people that aren't morons.

The project is ready for a public opening.Sorry for the delay.http://107.170.89.160:8005/One you're there you need to register first, then login. Then you will be presented with a default layout. You can change that as you see fit, but REMEBER TO SAVE your layout with every change (floppy button, top right). There is ONLY ONE FUNCTION that kinda works, and that's "charts". You can display as many as you want, in whatever size you want. Add them with top right menu, then set your trading pair with the "cog" button on the chart. There are some 300 trading pairs, all alctual live data from Swisscex.Have fun, and please let me know what you think.
>>236139Quick Q&A Time:Q: Why did you do this?A: I found a lack of a toll like this. Every site you go everyone KNOWS how you want your info presented. This bugged me.Q: The visuals suck/The site's slow!A: They do for now/It is for now. Bare with it.Q: I can't see shit.A: You need to register and login. You won't recieve any error or confirmation messages (for now), sorry.Q: I lost my password.A: Just make a new account.Q: Will the accounts be permanent?A: As far as I can try to save them, don't count on it. It's a proptotype/prrof-of concept kind of thing, I actually think of throwing the whole thing away and rewriting groud-up.Q: How long with the alpha be online?A: I'll keep it up at least until next monday.Q: Are you kidding me?! I can't even delete widgets!A: While this should be trivial, I didn't have time to implement/test it. Bare with it for now.Q: I can't set countdowns.A: While this should be easy, I didn't have time to implement/test it. Bare with it for now.Q: The stat are faux/only two coins.A: This will be more tricky than you might think. It will take some more time.Q: I can't set the multichart.A: It's just a proof of concept. While implementing user controls should be easy, I didn't have time to implement/test it. Bare with it for now.Q: What's the catch?A: Some really advanced features will be available to donors. Only PND accepted. I don't want it to be "crippled" to free users, I want it to be really useful without ever having to donate, but we'll see. Hosting costs will be a limiting factor. This will need to at least break even. Time will show, I haven't thought this out yet.Q: Why not adds?A: I hate add.Q: If almost nothing works, why are you making this public?A: I need to find out user priorities. That means, what you'd like to see implemented first.Q: What's the ETA for launch?A: I'll try to sync the launch with the multipool launch.Q: So, how can I contact you?A: I'll be monitoring this thread.
