Is moving up the corporate ladder actually possible if you start from the bottom? Realistically if you create solutions and are a real asset can you move up? I always thought it was a meme or not real but now I'm thinking

Do you have a Bachelor's? Otherwise you'll never make it past middle management, if even there.

There is no upward mobility in corporations.

If you are an engineer, you will always be in the engineering group.

Most corporate leaders start out as corporate leaders. There is no upward mobility into this group, you pretty much have to be in "circles" to be here in the first place. Just look at any "corporate leader's" career, and you'll notice they always start out in an executive or C-level position.

No. A pajeet or woman will always be hired over you, usually as your boss and know nothing due to degree or sucking dick
Or boomer manager will never quit even if you were qualified for his job

If you're an anxious sperg who can't deal with people you're never getting a management position, every job is a dead end job.

>> No.23395135

People with actual skills don't move to the top. At best they become senior engineers or whatever.

The people who go to the top are the ones who are the best at jerking each other off.

btw keep in mind women are the victims of being willing to suck dick to get ahead not the man who couldnt resist them and got blackmailed into giving a position.

Sell your soul.
Lie your ass off.
Betray everybody.
Suck dick like there is no tomorrow.
Master copy pasting someone's work and pasting your own name.
Never say you don't have experience. Just give a training in SQL even if you don't know what it stands for. Nobody cares.
Laugh at the jokes of the person who ranks above you.
Chat with everybody who ranks above you. Schedule coffee chats with them, have lunches with them, get as much dick sucking in.
Always ask questions at the end of events/ big meetings when the boss is there.
Have someone else ready to be blamed for your mistakes.
Be a shitskin.
Be a woman.
Learn all company buzzwords.
Oversell everything.

Yes, making yourself appear better to your superiors and being well liked by them is what matters. There are more management levels than there are executive ones. If you're a sperg you're gonna get stuck in an executive position forever after 1-2 promotions.

i work "in corporate", corporate accounting at a large medical manufacturer. upper echelon of management is ivy league pedigree or former banking (goldman sachs m&a and such), or sociopathic boomers who started in entry level sales/marketing 20-25 years ago then very quickly pivoted to management and climbed the ladder very rapidly. there's no exceptions in my experience.

if you're asking about moving up to middle management, that's a different story but still predicated on years of experience and luck. i can't even dream of becoming an accounting manager for another 3-4 years, even if i job hop.

>> No.23396020

It's a carrot used to string along wagies, very few will actually make it past middle management which is pretty much a small increase in pay for a large increase in responsibility and stress.

>> No.23396304

>>23395712
I never claimed that. I’m saying that director or CEO of tech companies generally have skills. However I will agree with you guys that a good amount of people in upper management just smooth talked their way in. It’s pretty atrocious.

I feel like the people “working from home” right now who are just kicking their feet up playing vidya and posting cartoon frogs on /biz/ would be perfect for upper management

It used to be common. Every decade since the 40's has made it significantly harder.

Minimum wage laws force you to pay for your own training (college) when you used to get hired on the spot and do menial shit and learn on the job.

Excessive taxes, regulation, worker protections, unions, and litigation make it extremely expensive and risky to compete with the big dogs, either within the corporation or in terms of creating tour own business.

Overpopulation and globalization has led to an endless hirer's market. Employees have no leverage to negotiate raises when there is an endless line of other candidates ready to replace them. In addition, the bloated workforce in and of itself is problematic. Look into Price's Law.

The modern job market is an endless game of employee hot potato. Qualified employees constantly jump from employer to employer as most companies would rather hire a replacement than meet the 2% raise their loyal employees gets by leaving. On the other hand, employers are constantly hiring underqualified diversity candidates due to political pressure and bad market research, and constantly let them go due to underperformance and high litigation risk.

The only way to make it in today's world is to make a great bet on a good penny stock, or start a business catering to a very, very, very niche market monopolized via a patent or trademark.
