administration/office shit for 1 year, i always lie on my resume and say 2 years cause the place was rebranded and no one there has my original resume/knows me.
human resources for a year, got lucky with this job, only got it cause family member hounded her boss for me to have it, but i burnt out and quit cause i was working 50 hour weeks with 3-4 hour travel time, would come home with less than 2 hours to myself and sleep through my entire weekend.
then it was me working retail for 6 months, and now i've been working part time in a grocery store for over a year.
i don't have a degree, just high school grad and i can't afford to get one. any suggestions?

Find a low skill 8 hr manufacturing job. It will probably have bad conditions like hot or cold environment or dust or noise, but it will probably pay like 16 bucks an hr. Also, theres probably room for low level management if you re not a complete idiot

Do call center sales in a growing industry. Telecommunications, for example, is a pretty safe bet.

Short-mid term there is greater demand for it due to remote work and school. In the long term; all of the different ways we connect: Broadband, fiber, 5g etc. are in the process of merging into one network. The Internet of Things will take over and so many more innovations, and the fundamental thing these have in common is they will all be tangential to telecom due to it being the backbone.

AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Charter Communications. All of these companies are growing over time as more people enter the consumer population that use their services, and with the increase in customers they are obtaining, they have an increased demand for people to sell them shit.

That’s just what I’m doing, you don’t have to join the same industry, there are plenty of other good long term plays. Social media management, software, tech: all products for which the market has a higher demand for salesman.

In sales, more than most other jobs, the pay structure is meritocratic. You don’t have to convince someone, or even yourself, that you produce value. Your stats will speak for themselves, which is why a degree is less important as you become experienced.

don't think the bot would trash my resume before someone reads it?
>>23345752
i've always wanted to try that to at least see how good i'd be at it. will definitely check it out when covid calms down.

Are you good with databases? Excel, sql etc? If not watch some YouTube vids and add as a skill to your resume

You threw away a good HR job. Should have stuck it out for 2 years or so and get hired somewhere else. Economy is shit now, so you shouldnt expect much. Maybe buy a fake degree to make your resume look better, but you need connections to get past the bot.

This is a time of opportunity, you just aren’t looking in the right industries.

In most sales environments these days, you’re going to be up against people who are a heck of a lot more experienced than you. But most of them are complacent, if you have the drive you will make it further than them, but if you want to wait until covids over to even start maybe you never had it in the first place.
