English is the most valuable, but this board is already full of people who speak English, so it depends on region.

America: Spanish
Europe: A mishmash of European languages that are all only slightly different
Australia: Chinese

How hard is it to learn languages as an adult? I took Spanish for 6 years in middle/highschool but I was always a B-/B student and didn't really put in much effort because I didn't think I was very good at it. I'm interested in restarting Spanish and maybe even trying something harder like Chinese/Arabic. But I've been lead to believe that its hard as fuck to learn a language past childhood.

Japanese business/companies are an ass to get into and an ass to be in. You will be alienated and no matter how hard you try you will never be part of the tight-knitted team and you will always be "that foreigner." That's if you get the job that is.

It's a very different culture and you'll never learn it.

Seems like a meme to learn another language for money. How can you even capitalize on it. I speak native tier spanish and close to native tier french ( im quebecois by descent but born in west coast) . i havent seen a decent job that needs either. Its all customer service shit. Unfortunately spanish is the language of poverty and french is too niche. Nowadays your best bet is Arabic maybe but idk

The most widely used languages in business are English, Chinese, and Spanish.

You might find a profitable niche in comparatively less common languages like:
Brazilian HEUE
Arabic
Japanese
French
German
Korean

Companies just use native speaking immigrants in America for that (or in countries like France and Germany, just pick one of their many own countrymen that can fluently speak English). No point in hiring some random American dude that learned a language to semi-fluency.

it's a meme that it's easier for children to learn a language, think about it. they go through 10+ years of education after 6 years of constant exposure at home or in kindergarten to achieve what any dedicated adult can do with 2-3 years of medium effort

It's not a meme. Don't want to be that fucking faggot but just read the published studies on that matter. The brain and its neurons are way, way more plastic at younger age.

Actually put a child in a real language learning curriculum like an adult learning a language and they will pick it up in 1/3 the time required for an adult.

This has true and false components. Children gain more learning from play than biology. Adults are looked down on for fucking around, but kids just do it. Learning language with flashcards? Fuck no. Learn with music just like kids do? Fluent in a year. (You) might try univoice.app

Hell yea it was. Language production teaches half of a language - the part where we string words together to make sentences. Flashcards and random-recall exercises like you get in a normal classroom only teach vocabulary - they *can't* teach syntax because neurology.
