A lot of people miss the long term goals of core. The primary focus is to gather liquidity through ETH, wBTC, DAI, etc., LGEs. That will allow whales to trade large volumes without suffering a lot of slippage. After providing liquidity, then they can focus on vaults, farming, etc which will drive up price and trading volumes. But without the liquidity to start, the later steps are meaningless.

The current price is still way above the theoretical floor. So if the core price dunps in prep for the LGE they can mint more paired CORE/wBTC LP at less cost than if CORE was high, bringing up the price floor and total liquidity more than if CORE was expensive.
