I've built a model that has many indicators. Mostly things like present valuation and present valuation including growth. I find them using screeners on finviz and Yahoo finance. I mainly look at companies in sectors that make sense given the present context. I then use the model And if I like what I see I learn more about the companies financials mostly on macro trends.
I also read people's opinions on seeking Alpha (and follow the stock there). I follow the news a lot. I guess it's hard work for most people but I do it for fun. Some people like sports or watching tv, I like doing this

Look it was suriving until now based on billion dollar films and over priced popcorn and soda, and hasnt sold a ticket since March. That's why I look for sectors that make sense within the economic context. I look at industries that have momentum right now. In August I was mostly big tech. Now I'm mostly financials, industrials, and cyclicals. I have zero tech in my portfolio right now
