I've got 12 years left (I'm 34) until I land my retirement.
I've worked for the Postal Service for 8 years. I spent 8 years in the Air Force before this (time the FedGov allowed me to buy back to put towards my retirement with USPS)
So after 20 years, I'll technically have 28 years on the books for retirement, before I'm even 50 years old. Not a bad deal, and my job isn't even that difficult. I've been with them long enough I don't get the bullshit routes anymore, and I can pretty much work any overtime I want if I want extra cash to blow on shitcoins.
The USPS is a bureaucratic fucking nightmare. My boss sucks. Some days the hours are long. But all in all, my job is comfy. I get to be outside, I rarely if ever have to deal with my boss, I get to drive around and listen to whatever the fuck I want all day, and I occasionally get to see big tittied women come out to greet me.
