I love my monero frens!

How come XMR is so stable compared to pretty much every other alt coin? It almost behaves like a normal stonk.

>> No.23010773

>>23010700
I've heard it theorized that, compared to most other cryptos XMR is used much more often as a payment tool than a trading commodity. This means XMR has buy *and* sell pressure at the same time, which normally stabilizes it's price movements.

No moonboy culture to drive price and a tech barrier that filters out pajeets. also people buy Monero to use it. See pic related. The more people who use privacy like Monero will not go back to Bitcoin. So overtime adoption will slowly grow in niche use cases where Bitcoin is not usable.
So to answer your question, it is because Monero has gradual long term growth.

Yeah I've not really heard of people hodling xmr in the same way people hold btc etc, the closest I've come across is people storing large amounts in xmr until they need to spend it

So it's very difficult to extract any information whatsoever about what people do with their XMR.
And that is good thing.

I can assure you that many people hold Monero. The long term scaling problems of Bitcoin are solved with Monero's tech. Also, Monero has a culture that endorses the "unknown amount" meme, so most of us don't really babble about how much Monero we own to normies.
