Give me opinions on AppHarvest. They're partnering with a SPAC that trades as NOVS. They want to grow tomatoes at large scale indoor farms in Appalachia.
Basically we're going to force the poorest people in America to grow overpriced non-GMO tomatoes for the richest people in America to jerk off about how environmentally sound they are, and we're going to destroy the market share of, I actually don't know, big tomato I guess.
I bought around $12 like a retard and then it crashed to $10 and now you can buy it for $12 again. What do you think?

ROD comes out no matter what by end of November/December unless something unexpected happens. Will moon than even if Biden has won because Trump would be in office until January. Especially if they justify it using the old obungo-era EPA BBWA which was already thrown out in court for being bs.

ROD is the record of decision. It decides whether or not to grant NAK the permit to mine at Pebble. Granted after this they would still need the state permit but that will be easy considering how pro-mining the governor has been and the precedent that will be set by the federal ROD. If the ROD is good and the dems try to retroactively revoke it they will be reamed in court most likely unless they write a law to ban mining in the area which could work around it. Nonetheless the ROD still should come out BEFORE January when the democrats would take office if they even win.

Darkness falls, swallowing the entire city and ushering in a primal fear within the unsuspecting denizens of this rotted society. I mean, if I look at this example, I can see that, even if these two companies are comparable, and one (Intel) is like 10x the size and revenue of the other (AMD), most traders/stock holders care about the starting price of the stock, and NOT about the value of the company, unless they are interested in having some kind of influence in the direction the company takes. am I correct?

It appears they've committed to a "reverse merger" and so AppHarvest may never IPO, which is great news because it can deflect micro-industrial risk.

Realistically though, seeing how they are planning to attack, what I consider to be substantively accurately and structured out quite acceptably (by what I've seen), could be a great investment. What I may not research however is the quantitative data on market share, how much they plan to acquire etc. Either way, I'm buying in tomorrow.

>First car that can almost fully drive itself
>Takes actual design risks like gullwing doors on a mass production vehicle and a crazy truck that looks like a DeLorean fucked a Warthog
>Has managed to avoid the giant baleen whale grill trend by eliminating front grills altogether
Do I think the stock is overpriced? Sure. Do I hold some anyways? Yep, because what the fuck do I know in the grand scheme of things. The man sells the only electric car (for the most part) that anyone gives a fuck about, and he actually sells a pretty decent amount of them. Their basically the only electric cars that actually looks like something you would want to drive and has 95% of the range capabilities of a normal ICE vehicle. Not only that, but the goddamn things can pretty much DRIVE THEMSELVES. What other automotive manufacturer has any of that in a production vehicle? Fucking no one. The closest I can think of is GM's SuperCruise, but it's highway only and hasn't been fielded in a production vehicle. The Big Boys try hard to compete, but fail miserably. VW, for example, spent God knows how much for design and R & D on the "Tesla Killer" Taycan. Tesla proceeded to take a big, wet shit on VW's efforts. A multi-billion dollar auto conglomerate took a big, electric dick straight in the ass from a dude that makes cars in a tent.

so if the price of the stock goes up, the market cap goes up... the market cap is based on the price of the stock, and investors use market cap as a way to measure the value of the stock. that's kind of retarded, isn't it?

If people don't think a company is worth the market cap, they are more likely to sell. Its a good way of estimating future values and target values. Basically, its just one of the many many factors into deciding if someone wants to buy or sell at a specific price.
For example, Tesla was only valued at 40 billion a few months ago, now its valued at 400 billion. However, do you think its value should be higher or lower? I believe its worth at least 1 trillion, so at the current price of $400, it would need to reach $800. Therefore one might say it is worth buying TSLA up until that price.

Biden wants to raise corporate taxes by 7%. A couple of factors play a roll here. First of all it's likely a lie, because Biden is a corporate Democrat so he could very likely sell out the leftists base after election because "lol I'm only running once". Or he could actually hike corporate taxes and we all get fucked. Rather a corporate tax hike would benefit the average Joe is up for debate.

I doubt that very much. Firstly, Musk doesn't strike me as the sort of guy would bank on a global financial scam as a long term growth strategy, especially one that is at odds with his political and social ideology. While margins on the vehicles themselves might shrink, Tesla's ability to offer SaaS for OTA vehicle "upgrades" can help boost the average margin per unit significantly. While paying for software updates to enhance vehicle performance and general capabilities sounds scammy and retarded prima fascia, it's actually a good fucking idea. The concept isn't a whole lot different than going somewhere and having a new ECM installed or firmware flash on a gas car for better performance. If you think about it, Tesla is the only manufacturer that offers the ability to actually enhance existing capabilities and even add new ones without the need to purchase a newer model.
Also, other big manufacturers do indeed have electric cars. They are also almost universally shit. They are almost all ugly pieces of shit that are designed around the idea of a car as an appliance rather than something to be enjoyed. The ones that aren't have shit range. The giant auto conglomerates are simply too slow and bloated to compete, at least right now. GM is an excellent example. GM was literally first to market with a production electric car, the EV-1. People even liked it, but that didn't GM from randomly killing the program and unceremoniously crushing every EV-1 in existence. Then they tried again with the Volt. And I don't mean the shitty Volt production car, I mean the Volt concept car. The Volt was then CEO Bob Lutz's first attempt at a skateboard-style global chassis and powertrain platform. While the original Volt platform was made to accommodate a variety of fuel sources, the primary focus was always electric with the skateboard chassis to hold the batteries. This was literally the inspiration for Tesla's powertrain design.

but that's like saying "some people may think you are an idiot for buying AMD at $80, other people may think you are an idiot for NOT buying at $80". using market cap seems totally arbitrary.
but, whatever, I guess neoliberalism is cool with arbitrary stuff. now to think about the consequences of this all...

Instead of focusing on electric vehicles and advancing battery technology, GM decided to chase the retarded hydrogen pipe dream. Eventually a bastardized Volt came to market, but it didn't sell for shit. Their attempt at an all electric powertrain with the Bolt looked like an electrified abortion of a Chevy Sonic and ended up an abysmal failure as well.
Tesla is already preparing for the endgame now. While Tesla is a car company now, I foresee them eventually turning into a battery/software company. They are already substantially ahead of the industry in battery technology and constantly working to push the efficiency and cost per kW lower and lower. They are also beginning to shift their battery production from manufacturing partners like Panasonic and LG to in-house. Musk even made a wise decision to manufacture Chinese Tesla's with a different battery chemistry to prevent the Chinks from thieving his IP. Tesla could theoretically just provide the batteries and other proprietary drivetrain components to other manufacturers instead of making cars. Toyota powered by Tesla sort of thing. Also, licensing their self-driving car electronics and software to the big boys would be extremely lucrative. There's tons of opportunities for growth, even in a future where Tesla doesn't make cars.

Seems unlikely. Why would he be pushing for his own proprietary battery technology and move towards vertical integration if he was on the way out? Also Starlink and SpaceX rely primarily on defense contracts to make money. While SpaceX has a near monopoly now on DoD contracts to launch shit into space, eventually Boeing/Lockheed/NG will pull their heads out of their asses and become competitive again.
