It cost more since it is hand poured, and usually made in smaller batches. It is like if you had a friend who makes their own silver bars with special logo for them. Of course it will be more expensive than those who pumps out thousands of bar a day. That is why it is held by people who are into designs.

>> No.22947776

They do, but designs cost extra. Especially if it is beyond 1oz for a round. Look at the price of generic 2oz rounds in SD or MM. Those are more than double spot since it has extra design compared to generic 1oz. Scottsdale makes some lit silver, but the odd shape needed to get the lion coin mold is paid off by extra cost in premium. This allows Scottsdale to have a rotation of coins each year that are special for 1oz silver and gold. Tldr, it is mold cost, and ensuring the system works for a month or so in advance that keeps scottsdale silver cost up more due to the unusual oz size.

Everyone chats about trading silver for gold when the ratio is suitable.
1. what ratio are you waiting for?
and 2. how do you even go about this without losing out on getting shit prices for buying and shit prices for buying I can imagine any shop just straight up swapping 30 oz of silver for its spot value equivalent in gold.

>> No.22948448

>>22948322
It might be because of the unusual shape of the metal which means they have to make it every time verses having one set mold to put it into and pump through those. SD has aztec that is higher fidelity and mass printed compared to the button yet the button is more unique than that. (aka the button is for collectors to get compared to stackers).

There is no u in the latin alphabet. v and u were the same letter until a couple of hundred years ago.
Double-u (w) is made up of two 'v's to differentiate the "wuh" and the "vuh" sounds, and 'u' represents the vowel of the same sound which comes post-consonant (like queen).

It's because metals are pegged to the USD. For non-USD holding nations there are more hurdles to make before metals arrive to your country.

Also volume. There are tons of metals stackers and there is a massive community in America, so imports can be made cheaply in massive volumes. In a smaller country where there is less demand and its currency less valuable to the metals market, you can only import less at a time and have more expenses over all.

Barkerville Gold Mines current new plan for exploration includes 8 more operating diamond drills on top of the already planned 10 for this winters work, and a new adit to test a section of ground drilled two years ago. This area is only one km from the existing Bonanza ledge workings and will be used to test vein runner style underground loaders and haul trucks as well as a new mobile pre crushing plant that will speed up shipping ore to the concentrator plant. Other than that they showed off some amazing ore photos, a few women bitched about how they dont want the project. Nothing earth shattering. I will keep updates coming as I get them.

Yea you're probably right. I'm expecting sideways choppiness for a while. Are you expecting downward movement in the coming months, along with the price correlation downwards between PMs and the broader market? I don't mind downward movement happening in the broader market as my bet on PMs is a bet on FED intervention happening as soon as things get shaky, bolstering the PM fundamentals. The temporary correlation doesn't matter much to me as I think it's only temporary and we're just looking way too short term.

Sure lol. LCS charge you a certain amount for every $1 FV (face value) of junk 90% silver coins, (10 silver dimes, 4 silver quarters, 2 silver half dollars or 1 silver dollar).

So in simple terms when you purchase $1 FV of junk silver, they charge you $20 for it. In LCS lingo "$20 for $1" = "$20(USD) for $1(Face Value in silver coins)" You can specify whether or not you want dimes, quarters or half dollars.

(Also of note is $1 silver coins usually have a higher premium)

>The final list includes: Aluminum (bauxite), antimony, arsenic, barite, beryllium, bismuth, cesium, chromium, cobalt, fluorspar, gallium, germanium, graphite (natural), hafnium, helium, indium, lithium, magnesium, manganese, niobium, platinum group metals, potash, the rare earth elements group, rhenium, rubidium, scandium, strontium, tantalum, tellurium, tin, titanium, tungsten, uranium, vanadium, and zirconium

Nothing in there about gold/silver/plat, but if this EO is going to have teeth, its going to have to drive up the cost of importing Chinese metals and subsidize domestic production. Good for US miners, and potentially Canadian and Mexican ones to if the US is incentivized to import from other nations.

Silver is a chemical element with the symbol Ag (from the Latin argentum, derived from the Proto-Indo-European h2erǵ: "shiny" or "white") and atomic number 47. A soft, white, lustrous transition metal, it exhibits the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and reflectivity of any metal.

Together with gold and the platinum-group metals, silver is one of the so-called precious metals. Because of its comparative scarcity, brilliant white colour, malleability, ductility, and resistance to atmospheric oxidation, silver has long been used in the manufacture of coins, ornaments, and jewelry. Silver has the highest known electrical and thermal conductivity of all metals and is used in fabricating printed electrical circuits and as a vapour-deposited coating for electronic conductors; it is also alloyed with such elements as nickel or palladium for use in electrical contacts. Silver also finds use as a catalyst for its unique ability to convert ethylene to ethylene oxide, which is a precursor of many organic compounds. Silver is one of the noblest—that is, least chemically reactive—of the transition elements.

Gold is OK but has no real future; it is indeed a barbarous relic of our rock collecting past.

Silver however is the core, fundamentally critical elemental backbone of humanity's technological progress through this century and beyond while ALSO sharing with gold the same old barbarous history as a shiny monetary rock.

The trajectory is clear; us silverchads will go forward, prosper and inherit the universe while you unimaginative Goldberg's will stagnate and continue squabbling over literally useless rocks. Keep it up fren, more silver for the Chad's.

Directly? An act of Congress. Indirectly? Banks starting to significantly grow lending. But I honestly don't think we get the latter without the former anyway. The PM market is entirely dependent upon what Congress does and when it does it. Many scenarios can play out drastically different based upon this. Long term, it's almost certain that they can't get out of this mess without pursuing a course of action that is bullish for PMs. Short term, there are many actions they can pursue along with inaction and delayed action that can really screw with PM prices. Don't get leveraged. If you have a stoploss, they can see that and knock you out. Unless you are a pretty seasoned trader, stick to stacking.

And yes, another role for PMs that may be very relevant to us in this current time is to preserve wealth to the other side of a monetary reset into a new monetary system.

About halfway to the 10,000oz goal now, got some gold too of course but yeah for us young men silver is the obvious choice, gold only makes sense for old tired risk averse boomers who can't count on living much longer, and of course those mentally ill semites who've worshipped the stuff for millennia.

Anyone have juicy insights regarding who exactly JP Morgan has been stockpiling silver for and why? SchizoFoil frogposter's notions about a silver backed Western monetary union balancing an eastern gold backed currency were mighty interesting, but now people like David Morgan are hinting at the idea that JPM is just a front and hoarding on behalf of either China or the US gov't, latter being most likely.

What could be going on behind the scenes? Is a silver backed CBDC actually possible? More mundane reasons, like projected military/defense requirements for silver this century seem more superficially likely but the obvious and impending need for some sort of stable trustworthy money to eventually replace this cluster is an important consideration.

Anyone have thoughts or more info on the matter?

It could really be as simple as: They know the monetary system is in its terminal phase and within any small number of years, there will be major changes. They could just be buying up one of the assets that will be very good for preserving wealth...thus assuring that they are a player at the table when the new rules are drawn. They have other assets for sure and aren't going all in on silver. They are just rich enough that what looks like "all in" to us is just another allocation of preservation assets to make it through to the other side.

I really like getting the weighted sherbet/ice cream cups, weighted sugar and creamer sets, and weighted salt/pepper shakers (can be dangerous, avoid Duchin Creations brand and anything with a glass bottle insert in the body). Unless they're really crappy you usually get 80+ grams from a sugar/creamer set, lightest sherbet cups I've seen yielded about 30g but usually around 35-40g from them. Good weighted brands like La Pierre creamer/sugar sets can yield 130g. Basically, I immediately buy every creamer/sugar set if total cost is 40 or less, many sets if they look good/heavier/sturdier and total cost is under 50. Similar for sherbet cups, I'll immediately buy if they are 15 each or less, 20 each for better looking ones. Many weighted pedestal compotes around 6" tall and with a ~6" dish yield around 60g, hard to say as I don't see them priced cheap as often so don't have as much experience breaking them down.

>>22961957
>Do you primarily find things labeled as sterling?

On eBay yes, I search "sterling" in the antiques subcategory, BIN listings only sorted recent first then just refresh periodically when hungry for scrap. Often sellers are retards though so make sure you actually see the sterling stamp or proper hallmarks in the pictures. Sometimes I dig deeper and look for mislisted things but yields for the time investment tend to be lower, I like the fresh BIN deals.

If you ascribe to the Keynesian economic school maybe. But stimulus isn't a solution, but a cheap insulin shot to a diabetic economy.

Every additional injection is just another proof that we need expotenitial stimulus to keep the wheels on the bus turning.

Why is the market assigning it such a low value? the greece/turkey shit? (most of their operations are located in those two countries).
From a valuation standpoint it is so attractive relative to the rest of the sector, but is the turkey/greece conflict really this serious?

This is what I believe too. We have massive deflationary pressures in play. The first round of stimulus reinflated temporarily before the deflation is starting to rear its head again. Each successive round of stimulus will have diminishing returns and reinflate less for a shorter period of time before deflation pressures start to overtake them. That's why I say $2.2 trillion is not going to create the wildly inflationary environment people may think. It's not going to solve much of anything really other than kick the can.

But $2.2 trillion will not get us to $3,000 gold. The next round of stimulus will have less of an effect than the first. The third will have even less of an effect. They'll need something like UBI to really spark major inflation, and even that will require some kind of perceived boom to get velocity up.

Candlestick holders are tricky also, but ones like that I think would yield in the 14-18 gram each range (Not a good deal, and maybe only 11g for a duchinshit brand version). You want the 4 inch diameter base candle holders if you're going after ones of this squat style, if not made by Duchin or another crap brand they'll often yield 25-30g each.

>what's the formula

For weighted stuff like candlestick holders you may get as low as ~8% silver weight yield from the total weight of Duchin Creations and other low tier or more recent post 60s stuff, but usually 10-15%, sometimes over 20% for good older ones. Sadly it's largely dependent on the brand and style of item so no elegant overarching rule exists beyond being conservative and estimating purchase price based on a 10% by weight sterling scrap yield if you ever come across a heavy box full of the stuff.

I know it's unsatisfactory but like an autist I think in images/video and tactile properties, hard to translate my process and experience-bolstered instincts but I'll try making an easy picture-based scrapping guide for anons, at least half of the deals are obvious and don't require anything but being the first in line and another 25% of deals are easy to recognize with some basic knowledge.

Compotes

Those I don't have as much experience with and brand quality differences matter, but I'd estimate 60-90 grams for the ~6" diameter dish, ~6" tall pedestal compotes, similar for the squat weighted dishes. I just scrapped a weighted squat dish with basket handle that yielded 92g, pretty decent but I don't want to lead you astray as I haven't come across many weighted compotes and candy dishes priced below my comfort-zone buy price and thus am not adequately experienced.

>in real estate I'm starting to see prices inch down with actual price reductions
people more desperate to sell?
>seeing real estate for sale staying on the market longer in some cases, not selling right away
less buyers?, investors, speculators, developers maxed out? bailing out? not as many people ready to buy or capable of buying?
>Classified ads more things like classic collectable cars for sale, at lower prices, same thing as RE, not selling fast. Same thing with musical instruments, guns and tools.
so far its not that these things are new or out of the ordinary to be up for sale, its just that im seeing them not sell as quickly as before, and are getting listed for lower prices. and its turning to a surplus leading to a buyers advantage.
getting to that tipping point.

my theory is based on what we all know or at least think is going on,..

>many businesses and people out of work for a long time,..
>running out of capital and savings, starting to sell things to get money to live on.
>many businesses and people not able to buy the things they would have bought otherwise
>combined all these businesses and people suddenly desperate to liquidate whatever they can for survival or to lower overhead/liabilities, whatever, with no one out there to buy these things. because 75% of the population is in the same boat.

like the other anon said, going to be a buyers market soon with fire sales on everything.
and those of us with the ability, will be able to swoop in like Warren Buffet and buy for pennies on the dollar during these tough time.
disaster = opportunity

it will be bittersweet because we will be profiting off of other peoples terrible losses. oh well?, they should have been more responsible maybe?, idk
