>Kleros is a blockchain application which uses crypto-economic incentives to turn anonymous jurors into effective dispute resolution workers by turning the truth about the state of a contract into a shelling point that "players" of the "economic game" strive towards. This means the manner in which Kleros conceals the votes of other jurors during voting forces each juror to bet their own money and reputation in an information vacuum, where you know only one thing about the other voters: they stand to make money by voting truthfully. The rational, selfish beings humans are, they vote for the truth/justice because they know everyone else is there to make money and you actively lose money by trying to cheat the system. This dispute resolution layer is plug and play with any ETH contract who's participants want human dispute resolution without needing to invest in an ENTIRE FUCKING CALL CENTER. Small to mid sized businesses will now have a means by which to compete with the big boys in order of dispute resolution throughput, and the big boys get to do it for cheaper. Let's talk PNK?

Right now PNK is being integrated into a blockchain freelance language translating application to settle disputes between work, and in the future, where blockchains potential is fully realized and services need human dispute resolution look to see Kleros advertising itself as first mover, they haven't left stealth phase yet.

Any veteran PNKers, where is the best place to keep my ear to the ground about Kleros developments?

>> No.22961122

I think their twitter is the best way to keep your ear to the ground, anon. The reddit is pretty much dead, and they also have a blog. Aside from that, anons on /biz/ have a surprising way of being able to gather breadcrumbs from all over the internet.

This will never EVER work for one simple reason. It requires everyone be a willing participant. There is no incentive other than making money to participate in the system.
Now if you're in a situation where there is even a dispute over a smart contract's execution(literally defeating the point of smart contracts) what incentive do both people have to come to the table.

Kleros already exists! It's called civil court. I has backing by federal governments so the incentive to not participate is greater than to sit it out.

This shit is fundamentally flawed and despite being focused on human nature, is completely missing the mark. I swear the lead dev is a turbo-autist that's the only way something like this could even happen

They think you're going to use a smart contact to hire a Filipino to build your dog snuggie website and then invoke KLEROSHHH to dispute it when they deliver a bad website

It's just a fundamental misunderstanding (probably intentional) of smart contracts and what they're used for or why they're valuable (hint, it's because you can't "dispute" them)

>> No.22961345

>>22961220
How well does that work for small disputes that cross borders?

You don't agree to go to Kleros court when there's a dispute. You agree beforehand that any disputes are settled via the jury. Funds plus a deposit are held in escrow and paid out when the two parties are in agreement or a jury makes its decision. You lose a case, you lose the deposit.

Yeah, it's for digital contracts which can't be settled using API calls, such as work agreements between a client and freelancer to translate a piece of work. Maybe this gets turned into a browser extension so we can pay a dollar per post or so for translation and verification fees from Kleros to cross post with chains in jp idk man think innovative not iterative you pussy

This this is an oracle problem, or your smart contract was not precise enough. Either way Kleros is a bandaid requiring everyone participate(they won't)

not everyone needs to participate, it is just looking to reach critical mass and leave those who doesn't comply as space dust. But their marketing is non existent, the networking is autistic in a non good way and the primary incentive of the crowd shills is something completely different that doesn't necessarily depends on kleros

>> No.22961816

>>22961732
>their marketing is non existent
That's a big problem, Clement is a genius but he suck balls at marketing, he might actually create a perfect produce only for it to be stolen by someone who actually know how to sell things.

Also his company is incorporated in France which is a terrible thing, there is a reason why good projects from the frenchs (REQ and RLC comes to mind) tend to be huge letdown.

>>22961732
>it is just looking to reach critical mass and leave those who doesn't comply as space dust
You cannot reach critical mass when there's no incentive to join EVER.

Needing everyone to participate is the secondary problem to the premise. The primary being smart-contracts don't have disputes.
If there is a dispute you shouldn't have used a smart contract or your oracle is unreliable.

Kleros = a stupid bandaid to a nonexistent problem

>>22961906
Not everyone, it is not an incentive problem but a trust, or rather mistrust problem. Rug pull, exit scam and fuck enough players over and there is a small chance, with the right marketing, to have them only trust projects who incorporate kleros courts and leave the other as the 'bad guys'
