Men many people are going to get burned on avax, Not only because of the Pump n Dump token metrics but because people overestimate its abilities, The DAG+Byzantine combination is known to be a failure when it comes to smart contracts, AVAX took on themselves an impossible mission and tried to make the original paper work, They can't, Nobody can, People who tried integrate the Avalanche consensus in the past deemed it as impossible, Avax will have to use virtual machines in order to support smart contracts which then will make avax no different than other meh coins, It really his NOT a well thought project 1-3 years ahead. The Avalanche consensus algorithm is a genuine breakthrough in the underlying computer science. Nothing else has really attained that kind of a breakthrough on scaling.

I think most people dont mind waiting for ETH 2.0. The ethereum team is reputable which means it is much safer to develop things for ethereum cause you know it will get better eventually.

Avax launch was kind of a disaster, the communication was horrible and it was shrouded in hype. I dont think itll go up like crazy.
