Fractional reseserve banking is pure scam
say you deposit 10k in your savings account, the bank only needs to hold 10% of an outstanding loan in reserve, so with your 10k they can lend 100k, when the lender recieves the 100k, he puts that on the bank and now the bank can lend out 1m, all starting with your 10k
they then use those funds to invest in their cronie-friends on wallstreet and governments
if they loose everything you have to hope on a government bailout, thus your taxmoney

Generally well paid compared to other professions. Most positions are not mind blowing money (upper middle class) and most positions are dull, soulless bureaucratic dead nightmares.
