22887715 No.22887715 [Reply] [Original]

>the most significant development for eth/link/defi/smart contracts etc in months is HAPPENING RIGHT NOW with massive game changing implications
>no one on biz is talking about it because it doesn't rely directly on a meme token shilled by cz or tg groups
>full blown war between optimism and arbitrum as the layer 2 race is now officially on with optimism already ahead of arbitrum, with synthetix already integrating and devs saying uniswap and chainlink are next in the coming weeks
>felten seething in his white house cuckshed, but sirgay is still plotting by betting on both horses so whoever wins he wins since snx switched all their price feeds anyway
>stani just watching from the sidelines and waiting in case this could fuckup
where did all the big brain linkies, defi degens and eth ogs go? even all the uniswap tards are not talking about it

L2 IS THE NEXT REVOLUTION AND IT WILL NOT BE TOKENIZED.... unless you just buy eth and link

What's really exciting is thinking about how fixing the gas issue will then allow teams to redirect funds to real development, ie synthetix will soon launch real assets synths like tesla and apple as their pilot, once this starts happening soon enough there will be hundreds of them and a shitload more demand for link nodes... while basically costing the same thing a few calls cost right now.

Then even if you stay away from uniswap shitcoins it's undeniable this is going to kick start a whole new phase of defi craze, which is gonna be good for the whole ecosystem.

Short term (eoy/q1 2021) Optimism if the "big 5" integrate (AAVE/SNX/UNI/YFI/LINK) and everything goes smoothly
All the teams need scaling like yesterday so first mover wins, and first mover means network effect...
Arbitrum might have a superior product but quality takes more time, and they'll struggle to convince the teams to switch over to them if Optimism is "good enough"... That's always the issues with academics teams. Still I don't think they're over yet. Chainlink especially has incentive to only use Optimism as a temporary solution.
