rate my system. it's been working surprisingly well in backtesting so far, idk how i could really make it better. even using something like an EMA as a baseline seems to just make it worse because there are plenty of successful signals that go against the trend and if you waited until it crossed the line to enter, you'd be too late to get the 3x target. feels like in general 1:3 risk reward is pretty kino, taking a few losses here or there isn't a big deal because often on bad days you'll get a couple of successful trades that'll cancel out your bad ones and on good days you make loadsa money. that said i still need to put more time into testing out 1:2 1x the ATR and 1:2 1.5x the ATR. honestly feels like day trading is looking more like risk management is more important than anything else, but im curious to hear people's thoughts and suggestions on the issue.

It's not even a question of portfolio size, it's a question of risk ratios and the way dividend payouts work: your stock's price is adjusted as the dividend is payed so you have to hold for a while before it even recovers, until then you've made nothing from the dividend. Most banks won't offer you the best rates, and even then if you have a lot of money and opt for HYSAs savings accounts have floating rates. If you want fixed rates and opt for the bank route you're better off buying CDs and holding it equal to the time you would've kept the money in the savings account. To put in perspective, for the past year the best savings rates around 2.5-2.75% have been all shaved down to 0.75-1%

You don't need to keep to a traditional IRA, or IRA + roth, or whatever. You can have a non-registered account, too. Far more flexible for playing around and no contribution limit. Shame about the taxes but it is what it is.
I don't think OPTI in your IRA is good though. You won't be able to take enjoy it until you're old.
