Can anyone shed some light on the rumor that JP Morgan is hoarding silver for the US government?

Wish there was more collections of such a high quality. It feels like so much more than just 20 ounces of silver. It's like a piece of the British Heritage, a part of their history. The Queen will die soon, this will be the first and the only collection with her face on it, I love the numismatic potential in it for the distant future.
Sure was fun to collect them all, now I'll maybe go for the golden ones...

I'm here, although I can't promise that I'll be in /pmg/ much longer. The answer is, you keep at least 20% of your portfolio in physical in case of such an eventuality. If the mines did get nationalized, it would send silver absolutely soaring, to the point where it would compensate for any money lost in the miners. i don't know how much silver you have but keeping small amount of PM seems like basic financial literacy. the only disadvantage is that the purchase is taxed, but that's a moot point if you look out for a little dip.

Yeah, I lost a few slivers but I put them in my bag of jeweler's silver snips. The 1 oz tabs all have different consistencies on the inside, which is interesting. The gold maple I was using to clink my gold together so the surface of it is fucked. Plus, I wanted to know if I had any fakes, and there haven't been any so far. My guess is that there's a lot of fakery in monster boxes and kilo+ bars, but since nobody ever melts those or checks them for tootsie pop centers, that's where I would hide my metal thievery.
