Could someone make a smart contract using DECO and Chainlink to cryptographically verify a wallet holds a certain amount of chainlink, and only allow a user to interact with an application (say, an imageboard) if they hold a certain amount of that asset? Asking for a friend.

You do not need chainlink for that, you can sign an arbitrary message sent to you and send that signature to the server to authenticate.
Mew supports message signing along with the ledger app, but it would be trivial to implement this as a login method for any website.
There are no direct login style integrations with wallets afaik, so for any initial implementation you would need to have the person enter their private key and the atuh would be signed clientside.
That would require them to trust you though so it will likely never happen.

It should be possible but it runs the risk of turning into a gay tripfag circlejerk or even worse a honeypot.
Even if we enforced anonymity, we lose the magic of open imageboard chaos. I'd rather have a web 3.0 extension for 4chan so we can run contracts within threads.
Imagine if we could make betting pools that pays out posters for scoring quads or who roll PEE in their ID. Or pays out to the first 6 posters who can spell NIGGER consecutively.

No it doesn't and it is odd that you are calling me an idiot, DECO is for bringing external information ON CHAIN. Not for signing messages and sending them to the external service.
Also it would not work because DECO is a two party key created for that session which is a sum of the users key and the counter party verifying the information. (well not the raw keys but for your small brain lets just say this)
