People have been given so many chances to do the right thing. Howard Buffett couldn't have been more precise, prophetic, or eloquent in his speech before Congress, and that was as long ago as 1948. Providence permitted the system to go on for sixty more years. They were given a prophet even at the very brink of the ultimate catastrophe, Ron Paul, and still they wouldn't listen. They cannot say that they were not given fair warning.

the inevitable is close at hand, yes. A better, easier way was offered, and the world smacked it away in favor of self destruction.
But trump is an added extra on top of all that. Michael Moore was right that electing djt was a 'fuck you' from a particular chunk of the american people. But he didn't understand what the fuck you was for. It was a 'fuck you' to the midwits and followers who dragged us down this path.
These tensions now are not about race or class or urban vs. rural. A little maybe, but for the most part the divisions we see today are based on mental health and simple reasoning.

>What's the acceptable price range for scrap in your opinion?

A price that would yield you returned refined bullion at a total cost no higher than spot at time of scrap purchase. Cheaper the better obviously, but currently (and through August highs) I've kept total average costs below 20/Ozt. I'll pay more than normal for some scrap (like high quality antique stuff too good to melt down that I just keep or easy scrap like a straightforward pile of silverware) and DCA with the awesome deals that also show up which keeps volume worthwhile at the expense of costs not being as impressively low as they could be if you only got the 10% best deals. Good rule of thumb is if it's around $0.50 per gram of sterling or lower I buy almost instantly. Weighted items, stainless bladed knives etc are potentially dangerous for noobs so be careful and good luck!

Cheapo scrap this spring has helped keep the average maybe around 17.50/Ozt so far for my refined bullion this year. Right now I'm happy keeping costs under 20 which is easier now with the spot hammerdown.

Around 9.2kg clean sterling in that basket, probably have 16-17kg worth built up for the refinery right now (after several hours of processing still required). Good way to bypass the Eternal Premium and average down your other bullion purchases.

The first Gold and Silver coins were struck in Present-day Greece and Turkey, from the 7th century BC to the mid 20th Century that region had some form of circulating Gold or Silver coin. Before the invention of coins, people in the region would use ingots of Gold and Silver to barter. Man I don't think so, so many different sizes, styles and different manufacturers that i'd need to approach it a different way, like using pictures in explaining the visual differences between thick gauge quality weighted sterling and foil tier dogshit, good/bad brands and whatnot. Duchin Creations is shit for example, La Pierre however made very impressive heavy duty weighted items. Candlesticks the same size/height can yield 32g for one and 112g for another so brand/manufacturer is very important to consider when venturing into weighted stuff.

Full size dinner knives generally range between 18-24g per handle, I average around 20g per dinner knife handle and use that as my guide when estimating yield of prospective deals. Luncheon knives yield less, and little sterling handle butter knives 10-16g, 12g being my gorilla math benchmark.

I'll try to draft a more linear and helpful IRL and eBay scrapping guide, maybe have it linked in the general for reference.

The trade one is top right here, United States Silver Corporation. I assume it is a reference to the old US trade dollars from earlier times, the 420 grain coins we used for trade with China in the 1800s. On the globe side it even notes the weight in grams and grains. The others are from a mint in Utah that I believe is no longer running, Constitution Mint, left side coins front and back. One of the rolls was all the ship coins, the other was mixed including the Britannia and a 9/11 coin.

And here it is straight from the horse's mouth, Rob McEwen on MUX
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6tvSU_6s8mg
A nerdy, soft spoken, proven gold mining executive lays out why MUX has under performed compared to other miner stocks.

My personal thoughts? McEwen is in it for the long-run, to create a long term profitable PM mining operation like he did with Goldcorp. I'd say McEwen Mining is a mid to long term play on the price of PMs, and caters to the true believers who think we're entering a years long bullrun. Immediate gratification not to be found here, but like the mam said himself, a 2 bagger in the short term is expected/needed to catch up to the current gains in the sector.

A on sale mid to long term hold.

glad to see some news come out on MUX, going to give it a watch. Although just going on your run down it pretty much aligns with why I maintained my position on mux. I see them doing really well once they have adapted to covid operations and finished re opening their mines, plus they seem to have some really good results on their new explorations. Short term I would not be surprised to see 2$ in 6-8 months. I fully expect them to just hit it one day and stay there though rather then a slow climb, people will realize its undervalued and just drive in as its one of the more well known names out there.

MUX has come out with incredibly little information in a time where every miner is trying to shill their potential to investors. McEwen himself is highly respected in the mining community, and has many close contacts including Eric Sprott who he help mentored, so he's no novice to how the sector works.

In fact, I'd say it's almost suspicious how quite it's been. Not even lip service has been paid, while other shitty miner stocks have been praised with false confidence.

He's either too honest (which is good) or something is going on behind the scenes... Something unexpected.

If you're looking for resale though, it'shit-and-miss. My LCS gives $1 less than spot for generic, doesn't matter if it's pristine Scottsdale or banged-up Christmas rounds. On ebay they often sell for more than ASEs though.

I'm about 70% sure that current govts actually want gold to re-price itself up for backing currency. The schemes to fix the gold price have always been driven by the US government. However, now the US has a president has spoken positively of a gold standard and who clearly doesn't want the dollar to continue being the reserve.

I don't think it's a coincidence that JPM got slapped during the Trump admin. The Euros already have been stacking gold preparing for the end. It might be the only thing they agree with Trump on.

Not to get too /pol/, but it'll be very interesting to see what Biden tries to do if he wins. The dems desperately need the dollar system to continue, it's how they afford to pay their voters and they really like controlling the empire. I wonder what they'll do if they go full-retard and embrace MMT + UBI, and then Europe starts ditching the dollar system for gold backed currencies. I mean, they can't Gaddafi everybody, but they also don't seem capable of ever gracefully accepting defeat. Hell, they arguably committed treason just over losing the presidency once, and are threatening civil war if they lose again. I almost want to see them win just to watch the meltdown.

To be fair it stopped being an "anime image board" for over 10 years. Just an image board with an anime origin/heritage and general background culture. It's no longer an "anime website." This community became way too large, and it had non-anime related boards for enough years to attract people primarily interested in the board's topics (e.g. cars, weapons, outdoors) instead of people coming first as anime fans and then filtering out to other boards (outside anime boards).

Anyways keep posting anime I don't give a fuck, unlike a lot of spergs that can't handle seeing things they don't like.

Well if gold/silver are suddenly revalued to account for almost all the productivity and value of the world, I imagine you'll stop seeing the price in terms of $/toz in favor of neo$/mg.

A few things. There's no support at this level, the price action is weak. The dollar still has more ground to gain before it hits serious resistance. All I'm saying is don't like in all your cash at this level of we break 1920 then obviously this was/is the low.

Politics and investing go hand in hand. This race retardation is generally outside the scope of investing however (Go have a field day in a real estate thread, faggots).
>what Biden tries to do if he wins
I'd expect some vaguely "fiscally conservative in name", social democrat work that gets government involved in every area of finance that destroys markets like Obamacare did and destroys the lower middle and middle class like cares does. He will take the worst possible path (magically) to managing the pension crisis.
