I don't like cities much either, I don't eat out or go to bars, don't care about concerts etc. But cities have:
- better internet
- (in the case of a condo) better views
- access to hospitals and grocery stores

living in a rural area seens like a pain in the ass, specially as you get older

Seriously, where do you live, in india? You can get a decent internet connection even in africa nowadays

again, where do you live? It's enough to move in a small city or town and enjoy a way superior lifestyle, cutting the costs and without the urine smell.

I live in a small brazilian town of about 17k people
Internet is good in the town, but my father has a vacation house 10min outside the town (similar comparison to "innawoods" in my OP) that has expensive as fuck internet that's slow as shit
Hospital is good for simple stuff, but if you need surgery for some specialized stuff you need to drive 20min-2hours to a bigger city to get it
Obvious advantage of very few niggers obviously

If I had to rank them I would say
small town house > condo in big city > cabin in the woods last
I should have mentioned small town in the OP but I was more interested in what you guys prefer between the two extremes

>> No.22823711

there's a river nearby where i live and there are some fantastic homes nestled alongside. i want to live near water but lake homes (live in michigan, lakes everywhere) are always crowded and expensive.

Both really to truly make it. A good condo downtown will help alot, but you can also rent one for $1000-2000, depending on the situation, it could be useful as it is hell of a lot cheaper than a hotel in any top tier city.

Even one a bit of a drive,

but you want to own a house outside downtown. Don't fall for the city suburb but still inside city meme.
