for SUNW i set a trailing stop of $1.01. Tends to be easier for me for these small PnD's than a %. And yes, a halt would fuck your trailing stop, so you could consider using a trailing stop limit (only sells at the limit price once the stop is activated). However, in a dump with a halt, that may just cause you to lose more money as your stop doesnt activate and the stock crashes.
Usually if a halt occurs, if you set a good trailing stop, the stop would have already been hit before it crashes enough for a halt to happen. Meaning, dont set your trailing stop for something ridiculous like 20% of the last because youre greedy, make it tighter and the halt will trigger it before the dump
