Buy LTC and move it to an exchange and buy BTC.

BTC simply isn't a feasible with its current fee state.

Exchanges don't actually switch coins between wallets when you trade within the exchange, only when you deposit/withdraw

i'm here shaking my head trying to understand how to trade shit on bittrex bypassing btc

i deposited ltc, but to buy any other altcoin i must first sell my ltc to btc and then trade.

the alternative, i assume and have used, is shapeshift but their fees are fucked.
