My understanding is:
>any transaction over 10k involving cash is reportable in general, for anything not just metal
>ASE and AGE, and maybe other US Treasury minted coins, are not reportable as a purchase in any quantity (but if cash is involved the above might apply)
>other large purchases of metals are mandatory reporting if it's a huge amount, idk what though, could be first law.
JM or one of the big online vendors has a write up on it, they said they almost never have reported transactions just a very small % of them. Of course, if they're subpoenaed that's probably a different story.

Not really related to pm's but:
For those interested in the future of batteries, look into liquid metal batteries. Liquid metal batteries offer safety, energy-efficiency and no long term decay but are extremely hot and have less storage capacity than physical batteries. There's an unlisted company called Ambri that markets this technology. They use liquid calcium alloy in their batteries. Bill Gates is a major shareholder. They plan to begin mass production of batteries in 2023.

Then there's of course the lithium batteries that are in high demand now and in the future as well due to their use in smart phones, electric cars and industrial machines like forklifts, unless Musk has some space-age tech in his sleeve. I assume his battery will be a direct competitor to these Li batteries and will undoubtedly be features in Tesla models in the future. Depending ln the performance of Musk's battery, lithium might go down and silica/nickel might go up.

I just found a very interesting article, bullish even. A research team at University of Texas has made very promising research on a room-temperature liquid metal battery, which uses potassium and gallium. Read here: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/07/200706173442.htm

Very exciting prospects for the battery market all around!

Our friend from IKN, who attacked Tinka Resources, has just written another hit-piece on silver.

-

"The moment when economic reality smacks all those wild fantasies about silver around the back of the head with a solid piece of 4×2. It’s one of the signals this desk has been looking out for and while silver will get short relief rallies on its way back down, the stuff and nonsense about its investment potential as an asset class is from today left with the Eric Covidiot Sprotts of this world, the ones that need their bank balances kicked all the way back down again along with their fetish metal before they get the point. At what point does the latest crop of newbies twig that Keith Neumeyer is a true moron about anything connected to numbers? Hopefully faster than the last cycle, there were people falling for his nonsense as late as 2013 last time. Let him teach you about sales techniques and human psychology, not silver bullion.

For the rest of us, we level-headed people who understand gold’s true value but don’t get carried away of masturbatory fantasies about the upcoming Weimar Republic, this signal is a promising one as it’s what we need to change the market from its reckless free-for-all into a stockpicker’s playground. From here on, those companies worthy of consideration at U$1,900/oz gold (or U$20/oz silver, if you insist) are the places to look, not the pages of paid-pump-promo vehicles or Usual Suspect management and boards of directors."

-

IKN finds itself wondering what new market participants think of Keith Neumeyer’s economic and intellectual prowess this morning, what with his call for hundred dollar ounce silver hitting that troublesome road bump we sentient humans call “reality”. Mind you, we have to admire Keith’s timing on getting Eric Covidiot Sprott’s cash before the hammer came down, that’ll keep him in tequila.

>> No.22736130 [DELETED]

>>22735881

He's a social justice warrior who thinks that silver is a worthless industrial metal, and that any one who says otherwise is a "racist conspiracy theorist." When the GSR reached 1:125 in March, he missed making 10x gains in the silver small caps, and insisted that silver was going to plummet further. I think he's deleted the article now, because I can only find it on Google cache. Eric Sprott is hated by him because he now only loves silver, but has spoken about the coronavirus hoax, so he's a doubly evil conspiracy theorist.

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_jKEIGXAtBkJ:https://incakolanews.blogspot.com/2020/03/the-death-of-silver-as-valid-investment.html

"I'm beginning to think that silver is never coming back against gold, or even the flimsy old fiat dollar for that matter. On the investor side, people have stubbornly stayed away from stacking silver and probably due the nasty fingerburning received in 2010. On the industrial side, no prizes for guessing what happens to demand in our new Covid-19 world.

No matter what the idiot permabull silverbugs may claim, there is a glut of silver and the physical oversupply is from the big base metals miners.

Silver is not gold and we know through experience that it will now sell off hard into an industrial downturn (and gold will not). If your silver exposure is via juniors that struggle to turn a profit at $17/oz Ag or is an exploreco with a thin looking treasury, it's time to run away now. Silver is for speculative risk trades, not for times when you batten down the hatches."

He's a social justice warrior (hence the name "IKNBLM") who thinks that silver is a worthless industrial metal, and that any one who claims otherwise is a "racist conspiracy theorist." When the GSR reached 1:125 in March, he missed making 10x gains in the silver small caps, and, like John Dizzard, insisted that silver was going to plummet further. I think he's deleted the article now, because I can only find it on Google cache. Eric Sprott is hated by him because he not only loves silver, but has spoken about the coronavirus hoax, so he's a doubly evil conspiracy theorist.

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_jKEIGXAtBkJ:https://incakolanews.blogspot.com/2020/03/the-death-of-silver-as-valid-investment.html

I first brought him up here to explain to people why the share price of Tinka Resources was falling. It's an excellent company with 7 billion pounds of zinc and 60 million ounces of silver in the ground, but IKN keeps writing hit-pieces about it, because the CEO wants to place a greater emphasis on silver. The nonsense which is written here does have a certain amount of influence on people. It's fascinating simply to see that there are really people in the world who think like this.

https://incakolanews.blogspot.com/2020/09/please-ask-tinka-resources-tkv-ceo-not.html

"Oh how cute, TK CEO Graham Carman has decided he wants to be a silver miner. Which is of course his right, but equally we shareholders of TK have the right to call him out in public as the dumb market chasing promo artist that he's trying to be.

Here's the deal, Carman: You stick a single metre into Colquipucro chasing silver targets and I sell my shares. Today is Wednesday, you have until Sunday to contact this desk and explain just why you think chasing a faddy silver move is a smart idea just because the metal has spiked when every single drill hole stuck into Colquipurco over multiple years of exploration has been an utter waste of money. Change your mind about flushing shareholder cash down the toilet, or convince me I'm wrong, or I call sell Sunday evening. Just another dumb fashion-chasing wannabe rockstar geologist who doesn't have a clue about reality and should stick to banging rocks. I don't want to sponsor people who think like you do with my money, you belong in the 1990s."

There's a considerable group of people who really do think that these collapses in the price of silver are normal. They genuinely think that silver is supposed to plummet when the stock market or economy falls; even though, when silver went to $11 in March, you couldn't find a real ounce for less than $25, and, when it crashed in 2008, you couldn't find a piece of physical silver to buy in the entire world, and Andy Schectman nearly went out of business because he couldn't source product.

i understand some of the issues people are bringing up in this meeting, but for fucks sake some of these questions are intentionally stupid to make people mad at the company. The 200 man camp for example, they keep asking about how the mine will stop "unknown males" from interacting with the community. The minesite its self as well will only exist on previously disturbed areas and will clean those areas up after the mines taken offline in 2040.

>The U.S. Dollar Index is an index of the value of the United States dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, often referred to as a basket of U.S. trade partners' currencies. The Index goes up when the U.S. dollar gains "strength" when compared to other currencies.

You can see that it is clearly in a long term downtrend. Then compare it to the price of precious metals over the same period.

The first and foremost thing that the mine would bring to the community is 3 face power. Currently the community suffers constant power failures due to outdated bc hydro lines that are constantly being repaired. The mine would install a new substation and power line around a mountain range to not bother the community. Next would be cell and modern internet access. 99% of my posts this summer were through my own satellite internet while i was camped in Wells and the near by area, as the communities access is basically dial up, sat or insanely priced fiber optic. Cell service would help, but modern internet would be a god send out there. The final change would be contractors. If anything breaks or fails in Wells it costs 3x the normal rate to bring a professional out from a nearby city to get it repaired or constructed, with the mines construction face being 2 years, these contractors would be privately housed by Osisko at their camp and would be able to be on call for that period and a while after mine construction, allowing new housing and business work to be done in town for the first time in decades. The town needs it more than they know, and without the mine, they will fade into obscurity like Wells did in the 70s. The hippies are all welfare rats that drink or smoke weed all day, or do basic jobs for locals. They leave in the winter anyway, their vans cant start below -15.

2,500 years ago, even minuscule specks of silver were coined and used as daily money in the marketplace. A drachm of 4.2 grams was a day's pay for a highly trained soldier and worth 6 little .6-.7g obols, with hemiobols and even 1/4 and 1/8 obols (hemitetartemorions) and smaller struck. I own several ancient Greek silver fractions that weigh well less than 100 milligrams, one just 40mg and 3-4mm in diameter, absolutely tiny but still a coin!

In those times they understood what sound money was, and evidently even minute motes of silver were worth coining and using. Hard to say but I bet back then a Hermes Hemiobol would have afforded a BJ and more from formerly well-to-do housewenches & Co.

No real point other than showing some history and hoping that someday soon even niggardly little clipped off chunks of bullion like these little coins will once again be desired and valuable money.

The reason there is such a vocal hippy community in Wells is due to the company towns death in the 70s opening up lots of properties to vagrents who couldnt afford a house any other way. Houses there went for $10 in some cases. All those hippies stuck around and had kids, and now those kids are vocal that the dead mining town they live in is coming back to life. Also a summer group of people from Vancouver and the coast come up every year and do the same thing, basically squat and dont do anything. They are the most vocal part of the community, and are a major reason I dont choose to live there year round, even though most of my good placer claims are located only half an hour away.

Some really jippo projects still have tents, but for the most part its huge well setup atco trailer camps, good beds and amazing food. Osisko and BGM are running one of the best camps I ve ever visited in Wells. The proposed camp will be 30 atco trailers and outbuilding for most of the auxiliary functions of the mine its self.
The kind of camps your thinking of are drill camps or fly in camps high in the mountains away from population centers. There shit but not as bad as they were when i was starting out. I remember waking up one morning frozen to my bed frame in my sleeping bag because the stove went out in the night and our breath froze to every surface.

I believe the mine will get going on schedule, its just going to take a while for the NIMBY population to get used to the new normal. They got used to the diamond drilling, and even paved roads, they will either learn to live with the mine or move, and if they do that, than thats fine too.

Hey all.
Not sure if you guys have heard of Rarible but it lets you sell NFTs. I thought it would be fun to see if I could sell my coins there. Reason being I hate that if you want to get an actual liquid instrument where you can claim physical delivery, your minimum cost is a COMEX contract or 5,000 SLV shares (either of which is like $100k). So I thought I would try this out, and if it's something that sells I will do it regularly, provide a crypto based COMEX alternative. I'm sure this will also let people use it for farming or staking or whatever, I don't follow all that stuff but I'm all for it.
Thought you guys might be interested.

It is still an outside possibility. I have watched the metals markets for over a decade. When you see this type of volitility downward within a trading week it can easily retrace and even break through new multi week highs within a short period of time if the right environment exists for it. I believe that we are right at the cusp of the right set of circumstances for that type of upward volatility to take place. You can see that everything that isn't dollars is being hit right now as the velocity of money is slowing, and the credit markets are beginning to capitulate. Deflation is rearing it's ugly head as banks hoard cash in preparation for deflation. This can spiral quickly and just as quickly it can reverse and explode higher.

What I would expect is for things to continue to deflate for the next couple days. As things get more painful either congress will be forced to vote on an emergency measure, or trump will pull some market manipulation magic out from his sleeve. Liquidity is coming back and stimulus will come back. The question is when, and how much pain do we need to endure before that. My guess is that Trump is waiting for the right moment to introduce some Ace up his sleeve that will bypass the congressional stalemate and inject a ridiculous amount of liquidity into the markets singlehandedly. This will make him look like a hero to his base and like a dictator to his enemies...

TL;DR I think in these uncertian times we can expect more pain, but when it bounces back it will be faster than the downtrend and break new highs. In my opinion, it will happen before the election because this is politically expedient for those with the purse strings.

we are living in unprecidented markets.

Short term is uncertian, looks like volatility is back what goes down fast can come back up fast, or fall through the fucking floor.

The real test is do you believe in the long term prospects of metals? I do, that is why I have my physical stash.

I play around with a couple grand of short term options, while they can net big gains, they can also go to zero. It can be impossible to plan when the market will be rational and when it will act irrationally in the short term.

But yes, we are going above $50... I believe sooner than most people think.

Then $100

Then moon

You just have to know the fundamentals of what you have bought and then develop an iron fist.

Sorry to hear that. This is excactly why I personally don't really like options. The timing can completely fuck you over and if you have regular investements you can still sit it out. It certainly can be a very powerfull tool, but I have seen a friend of mine loose so many times with them, it's not even funny anymore. He always made good bets, but the timing was just slighty off and he lost almost always.

why would people not be scared anymore? FED is still desperately trying to cause inflation. Lockdowns around the world are still in full effect (even though this seems difficult to justify) and winter is comming...

I think it's very interesting, how the people and markets still pretend like nothing would have happened. This virus should have tremendous concequences on the market, but we are back at all time highs. There has to be either a huge correction or huge inflation soon.

The point was to show silver is so worthless you can't give it away. If it was 0.1 grams of gold or a snicker bar, then people would probably choose the 0.1 grams of gold because the average American neither knows what gold is worth nor how much a gram is, but they do know gold is shiny and expensive.
