I can build any software-based platform. Literally anything. But I have no network outside of the software industry to discover problems I could solve for them.

How do I get into, or find, a network of business professionals that I can help improve their efficiency or some their problems? I don't know where to start.

I did, in January. Went well for 3-4 months. Then gynaflu hit and we went into lockdown (UK). Work dried up overnight and it's been shit ever since.

Now I've got to rely on saving to pay the mortgage and have had to cash out about 80% of my crypto portfolio, incase that shits the bed as well.

Not LinkedIn. That place is cancer now. Unironically I would contact some people within consulting agencies, print some business cards, a quick representation of your skills not in a resume but working POC, take some of them to lunch. Start an LLC and make a website. They might just subcontract you and you can build up some contacts but the consulting agency might try to siphon some of your early revenue.

I don’t want to encourage boomer-tier ideas. If you aren’t going ecommerce right now you’re retarded

Drop shipping is absolutely boomer tier in terms of ideas. As far as we know, the three gorges dam already broke and all of China is flooded. Livestream got cut off after an earthquake a couple days ago

I didn’t know in your third world country the only two distribution & retail channels were brick and mortar and drop shipping. In the USA we have hundreds of different options to vertically integrate.

I've got an LLC and currently work as a contracted consultant, but I work daily with the devs in the client company. Even if I was chatting daily with the CEO I don't understand how I can jump to the next level, they'll continue contracting me for the work they intended at the beginning, how would I convince them to give me a large contract where I'm not constrained by people who don't really know what they're doing in the clients company and allowed to deliver the project on my companies terms but with their requirements?

I currently charge day rates, but I want $1m+ year long project-based contracts. How do I find these clients? Who's networks so I need to be in?

>> No.22662305

>>22661680
I own a small business but it's certainly nothing to boast about at this stage.

>> No.22662393

>>22662176
You are already doing really well then. If you want $1m+ you need to start thinking about advanced service agreements. Most basic services can be outsourced to Ranjeesh’s IT factory. Big businesses love this as they don’t need high quality support for people to continue buying. You must differentiate and offer some sort of primo service (make it “proprietary” if you can) and use buzzwords in your pitch.
Salespeople look at deal acquisition as a pipeline and are concerned about conversion rates. Talk to as many people as possible. You need social skills here. No exceptions. I would start thinking about how you scale your company, 7 figure service agreements are going to require more people than just you. Can you delegate?

>> No.22662694

>>22661771
This. We live in clown world just buy crypto and precious metals there's no point expending effort to start a business

>> No.22663557

>>22662393
Happy to delegate but worried about hiring help before it's needed, I'm tempting to fake it for a contract and then budget for help in the price.

Feels like I can't get into the networks necessary without a bigger staff force to be taken seriously, I'm always seen as an independent contractor/consultant.

Tempted to jump feet first and specialise in an area of expertise such as serverless and advertise the company as a specialist serverless migration company.

But still unsure how to get into the meetings/networks where big clients could be signed up. I think I'll start by having a designer work up a professional services site that I could build and at least have the appearance of a larger operation, that way when I find the clients/network there's somewhere to send them for a further sales pitch.

Do these companies go to trade shows or some shit? Where do they put out their projects for tender?

>> No.22664102

I've got a good idea for a company. Almost certain to be profitable the 3-4th year and bring in millions.
Problem is I'm a shy, anxious and socially inept.
No sane person would trust me with any money.
Plus, I need to better myself.
