You can use an oracles to confirm that two different centralized databases have the same information within them and then have them both alter their ledgers to reflect the new state.

This allows you to retain legacy databases and have similar levels of security that blockchain provides.

Of course XRP will not be used since it would be asinine to put all of this information financial information on chain, and why would swift run XRP nodes when they can use their API and an oracle to do the same action. Without having to deal with the disgusting plebians attempting to bribe them at Ripple.
