Difference between a cashiers check at a bank and crypto is crypto is going to need to be capable of scaling as it grows exponentially in usage. Ethereum is bottlenecked by it's outdated and inefficient architecture. Alternatives are rolling out in 2021 that alleviate ethereums issues which it has because it was built before scalable solutions were figured out. Nobody thought it would be necessary to scale to the extent that's needed now.
