Blockchain, smart contracts, defi, oracles, etc. are all bullshit subterfuge.

Only Monero does what people want from digital currency: Be a reliable medium of private, anonymous interchange to facilitate trade.

are you the dude who was using his work's computers to mine monero from a thread the other day?
also I only get like 8-10KH/s on my gayman PC which I use primarily to mine ETH.

US government is singling out a Monero address in sanctions against Russian nationals. This is a first, I believe

Wait nvm that article is dogshit. According to the monero freenode IRC, the listed address isn't even a Monero address. That's crypto "journalism" for you I guess

>how do you get away with it?
XMR-STAK seems to run background pretty nicely
and since we have i7s with hyperthreading on, it only mines on one thread per core
i renamed the executable to something that won't draw attention
but the users don't have administrative privileges anyway so they can't see the process
that being said, I don't tempt fate by running it on my boss's or 2 other principles systems.

I have more hardware I could run it on, but there isn't a client for ESXi afaik. I could mine in a VM but I don't want to hog the CPU away from other necessary VMs.

just a 2700x, I won the silicon lottery on it and it's watercooled tho. I only get up to 10 occasionally usually it hovers around 7-8ish.
that's while ETH mining on my 1080 ti, which I get up to 56 KH/s or so, also got lucky with that die.
I don't really play vidya anymore so the thing was collecting dust, might as well put it to use.
But man, you only get 10k on a dual xeon chip? Isn't cryptonight really memory latency dependent? maybe that's why.

Yeah, I get much different numbers from xmr stak than I do on my mining pool statistics, usually it says I'm around 5-7k on xmr-stak and 8-10k on the pool's website. It fluctuates a lot too.
I've been meaning to dig into how monero's hashing algorithm works a bit more, but I'd imagine having two CPU's sharing the same memory might cause some slow down if its really relying heavily on memory access timing.
>>22554504
damn that's pricey, that's gotta be on the high end of electricity prices pretty much everywhere.
Always wanted to try to set up a solar farm to mine crypto, might be a fun project. Would make a lot more sense if I was paying 24¢/kWh tho.

Ι remember hearing something about this a while ago, looked it up and it's called solarcoin, it isn't sold on many exchanges tho.
looks like you get 1 solarcoin/MWh which is like 1.8¢, you don't actually sell your energy for it though, it's just to incentivize solar production. Free money is free money though, might as well.
