Consider this: back in 2010 I went through a bad breakup with a girl who was mentally unstable. One of the many fucked up things that went down was waking up to find that she had waffled a turd into my macbook pro's keyboard. I was so disgusted I just tossed the thing without putting too much thought into the fact that my bitcoin wallet was not backed up. I hate how everytime there's a thread about losses it's full of morons thinking they're geniuses because they survived a wild market and half of them say you had to sell, the other half that you had to hold.

I made good money in 2017 and doing fine too now but I'm not ashamed to admit it's a mix of being lucky and panic selling at the right time.

That's what I tried when I got started around early June 2017. Split between BAT, LBC, DGB, UBIQ, BAY, and DCR. Basically broke even at a time when simply holding BTC would have yielded me a 2x. The strategy seems good on first glance in bull markets because sometimes those shitcoins pump 10x, but you have to remember that by the time you first hear of those coins, they may have already pumped 5x, and that for every winner you also have a dud.
