He was a real estate salesman before he made FxPig. I thought it was cool until I realized he had like 100 people who actually use the site and he didn't build it. Coders did. CoinMetro was built literally using half 'donated' labor by people neck deep in the token who didn't want to lose it all in 2018 when the markets tanked.

It actually is true; I looked back and found old posts on real estate blogs before Kevin was a 'Forex guy', I also was around when CM almost went broke and was ready to give up if coin buyers did not work for free to build the site. They laid off almost everyone, promised tokens to some and scaled back the site to a cheap sub $100 level of domain hosting. Welcome to your big forehead CEO of greatness who still has not been able to dig you out to ICO buyin levels with a DeFi boom happening. Here is your bump, Oscar.

I was in PRQ and made $, I was in XCM (probably before you were) and lost $. The gain outweighed the loss. Also no worries on being defensive. I can safely say that the old hat CM guys are so inured to it all that none of this will phase. Oli is a good guy, Kevin means well. I do have serious doubts as to the long term viability of it all but we will see. Maybe tighter regulation will somehow push people into cefi and maybe Binance will shut down? I think it is now too large to fail and I don't think more cefi will gain traction but who knows?

I was not kidding when i said you should question kevin on stream, i would love to hear his thought
especially on the
>I think it is now too large to fail
part, since kevin often keeps saying that binance will inevitably shut down because of all the shady stuff they are doing

secondly, what do you think about pic related
I mainly think one of the reasons cm will succeed is because of their goal to be a good exchange for newbies, they are already the best choice for most people in the eu, fee wise that is.
but they need to update the whole interface to really become extremely user-friendly, hoping that the new mobile app will help with that.
however, they had enough time to do all that, so thats what i would be mostly concerned about

thirdly, do you have any project recommendations that you are willing to share with us? i always like to hear what other smarter anons think about that, except if you don't want to

Even in China where cryptocurrencies are all but banned, people trade without worry using many platforms, Binance being one. I am not sure any European regulation will change that. Binance also, to their credit, also recognizes the shift to DeFi and I believe a layered approach to DeFi using some type of key data will be more in line with where people want to go - more seamless the better. I am in one now that I think is more suited to where people want to go within the crypto space. I posted it above as sort of a taunt but honestly it is currently going down not up so, as always, DYOR. Tokenwise it is very new but is tackling similar regulatory goals differently without the need to create a walled garden which people find objectionable. If they can pull through what they intend, I realistically think it kind of kills the KYC CeFi realm, or at best ties into it. Binance is so large it will probably survive anything but small exchanges? I think they are one good Layer 2 solution away from closure, regardless of how compliant.

Agreed, a lot of the same worries. Their time with incubators and them bringing it to a testnet gives me enough assurance they will go for the gold ring and not just drop it. They survived the last bubble and didn't quit so I'm reasonably sure this will hit during the next bubble in 2 years, unless this current bubble survives 4-6 more months in some form. They were doing TV spots and work in 2019 when DeFi was a dead idea.

I never said he wasn't a good salesman. My dad was a real estate broker too, I know the routine. The difference between being an agent and a broker? A few more tests, a business license, and a background check. Real estate personalities are literally a dime a dozen and his track record is not that great from all appearances.
