REPOST:
>>22373015
I have generally found that by far the biggest warning sign of a ticker is how much bagholders or, worse yet, CEOs of the company whine about "nasty shorts/bears".
Shorting is taking what is generally the riskier position on anything not a penny stock given that inflation serves as a baseline to POOMP stock prices. Shorts are one of the few people who actually give a shit about companies being responsibly run any more.
I find analysts that are short on tickers and write about it and profit from it FAR less offensive than "bull" analysts that do the same thing with opaque garbage like W, TSLA, OSTK, etc. beyond all reason.
If the company is sound its just background noise that people will ignore. But the wirecards of the world fear shorts because so much of the house of cards depends on passive investing that won't dare to look behind the curtains.

People will buy your call to bet against you, but you really can't lose unless the stock plummets and you lose more than the premium you sold the call for. But, like I said, if you expect the stock to come back and you planned to hold anyway, there is no reason not to sell calls.

I do not lump all tech in this. I am talking about the easy credit CONSOOMERS like TSLA, UBER, LYFT, OSTK, PINS, WORK, ZG, SPOT, etc. All of them children of the summer of Bernanke. They have had years, some even more than a decade, to do anything except burn money. And that is just the publicly listed ones. That is different from the dotcom survivors which served as the great purge of 2001 like AMZN, MSFT, AAPL, etc.
>Shit like Ford and GE are zombie companies
This is not a tech vs. non-tech argument here.
>People in US are greed fuckers, they will rip apart companies for pennies and cannot survive indefinitely
They were. They aren't now. We POOMP the dying companies with huge amounts of direct or indirect money from the government. "Capitalism without the threat of bankruptcy is Catholicism without the threat of hell"

2001 didn't have corporate welfare like 2009-2020 did. The problem with zombies is the more you try to keep them alive, the more that form. The more that form the more employment is roped into them.
No country that has attempted QE has ever escaped the cycle (yet) of having to keep doing more and more drastic QE. And it gets worse the longer it goes but the more politically suicidal it is to pop it. 13% of ALL companies in the US are zombies (4+ quarters where revenue is not enough to make payments on interest of debt obligations). And that was back in January of this year. Imagine if those vanished overnight.

You don't need to see the future to see uncertainty related to both rent/mortgage forbearance agreements and uncertain payroll data right now.
If you tap into a mortgage, which anyone looking to own a home should even with the cash on hand, banks have tightened not loosened lending requirements for homes. And if there is a deflationary cycle the home could literally cost 10-15% less in a matter of months.
