Bitcoin got big because it filled a market niche that didn't exist before, in this case a currency that's not tied to a state or bank. Something like that will never happen again because the people who use cryptocurrency for things they cannot or should not use regular currency for won't suddenly stop using bitcoin for another form of crypto.
