you don't "sign up" for flare, you put your ether wallet public key into your xrp account, it doesn't do anything to your xrp

flare makes the "snapshot", it just means that your ether address is assigned the same number of xrp you have, but it's on the flare blockchain, your xrp is untouched

then you access your spark using your ether private key

I don't use xumm since I use the javascript xrp library to make my transactions offline since t.schitzo, but if you use xumm it will do this for you:

- You create a ether wallet which gives you a public/private key.
- You put the public key into a special field on the XRP blockchain for your account where you hold your xrp coins.
- When Flare does the snapshot, they will look through all XRP accounts that have this field set, and copy the number of XRP into their blockchain
- You will need to use your ether private key to access spark.

It's not really an "airdrop", but similar. Your XRP is untouched. No one can touch your XRP unless they have your XRPL private key.

why bother with the airdrop at all? It's not like this new shitcoin is going to be worth anything anyway. Remember it is being dropped a something which people have to pay for an that something is barely worth 20 cents a pop. How much do you think the airdropped shit is going to be worth, more?
