I'm a small investor looking to throw some money into a low expense ratio growth ETF (preferably a Vanguard fund for reasons).

It looks like VUG is both undervalued and overperforming. It beats many of the other flavors of growth ETFs, and it's current value is well below the value of it's holdings.

What gives? Is there a reason for this disconnect? Also, does anyone have a better growth ETF suggestion?

your only frame of reference is the biggest bull market recovery in modern times, where all those tech stocks fucking exploded
don't expect it to last and don't chase performance

Perhaps I misunderstand the meaning of "undervalued", unless you're implying the underlying assets are overvalued as implied by

Start a business and multiply your money instead of settling for grandpa tier returns. Once you have enough money and can't return 6-8%/year on it, dump it into Vanguard and retire.

I'm giving you solid advice. This is what most richfags do. Only eternal middle class wageslaves invest in Vanguard their entire lives when they could get better returns with low-medium effort at their net worth.
