What Vitalik is basically saying is that we need layer 2 desperately now, and there are no other options really ready at the time. This is the only secure way to be able to scale full EVM contracts. The other sidechains like OMG and MATIC can't do this and no one wants to wait 1 week to move their coins off MATIC and OMG.

I put my paycheck into ETH today and bought more xDai, I don't care if its up this much. It is still ridiculously undervalued. I have never felt this way since Chainlink. Despite all the relationships xDai has and all the people talking it up, the price is so low. Feels like a clown market that it is ranked this low.
