>manage to get a family member to get a suicide stack of link before it was $4
>always hitting me up to spoonfeed them for quick 2/3x shitcoins
>invested tens of hours into showing them how to work things, made my own tutorial vids for them, the whole thing
>even sent them free ETH when they had a transaction fail on uniswap

to this day I haven't received a single 'thank you' - not even one word of thanks. The hundreds and hundreds of hours of research ive done, tens of hours of tech assisting, nothing.

ok yeah now I see why you're not supposed to try to help anyone with that.

it's normal to get pissed off about that right? at first I didn't mind, the joy of helping someone is enough. but after a while it's like wtf

Yeah this is how it goes usually. He will also downplay how much you helped him and will take all the credit to “his” smart investment to others. This will lead to others trusting his financial advice and them losing everything because in reality he was a spoonfed retard.

Life Pro Tip, tell him you cashed out with a little profit ($2k or something). Tell him you don't know where the market is heading. Say specific you can't give him advice if he needs to stay in the crypto market or not. You will probably get an "Ok" response. Screencap this.

When he complains in the future about missing gains or having losses show him your screencap.

Also let this be a lesson for you. Never ever tell about gains. Especially when they are unrealised. You will be the laughing stock for your family when you fail. You will be labeled the scrooge when you don't give them money.

In a similar boat, managed to get two of my friends involved in crypto, into solid long term projects. One of them is holding like myself, the other one started swinging for small gains and is now into shitcoins.

Not a single word of appreciation for helping them take the first steps, without me they wouldn't even dare to invest in crypto and would keep digging their holes. I don't let this eat me up, as I'm sure we can all be accused of this at some point in our lives, but it's good to be aware of it.

You're a fool for expecting it. If it works out and they profit, they'll just want more and hate you for not giving it to them. You've basically set yourself up as a money monkey for them, doing them favours like a simp.

It's beta behaviour, in the end, helping people to make money. You wouldn't believe the trouble it's got me in - I've made 6figs for some people and they became vicious enemies as a result.

It's kind of like when you lend someone money - they don't feel like they owe you, they feel like you're harassing them and they have power over you.

Don't bother.

That's the gist of it, yeah. I still shill people crypto but I just tell them to buy the obvious ones like Bitcoin and Ethereum and I no longer spoonfeed them how to go about doing so. So when they miss out they will only blame themselves: "Ah, eth did a 100x, huh? It was too complicated for me anyway"
Meanwhile, they'll all buy once their brokers/bank apps offer to hold their keys, I'm sure.

Yep. Number go up-up, they're happy. Number goes down 15% or stops going up. They're angry. Why number not go up more. Become upset and resentful, demand new picks so number keep go up. Can't wait a few months for number to keep going up. etc

This shit is not for everyone, it turns a lot of people fucking insane one way or another.

Never help people with finances. You're on the hook with them for life, and if you don't tell them when to sell they'll look at it as your fault if they sell too early or too late. I only give people general information on crypto and blockchain tech, and if they're really interested they can use that to follow the breadcrumbs and make their own decisions. I never ever ever tell people what to buy or what I think will do well. If it doesn't work out, they will blame you.

Showed him how to Open a Binance account and really instilled how volatile the market is, but also how the rewards can be great. Most importantly how you can avoid trading time for money. I wasnt expecting it to 10x so quickly, maybe x2 tops.
I tell him the news, that in less than a year you should look at how much he's gained.

...the kid's forgetten his password, and is struggling to retrievie

I love the kid to bits, but goddamn. Its only beginning to sink in now. Especially that he told his my Brother about his fuckup.
