22029944 No.22029944 [Reply] [Original]

Hi I’m a NEET in my late 20s, been broke my whole life. Over the past few months I’ve sold my Pokémon card collection and Runescape Gold. Now that everything is gone the final amount I’m left with is 642 Monero. So /biz/ I’m kind of new to cryptocurrency, what coins do I have to invest in to “make it” over the next 3-5 years?

A month ago when Pokémon prices were going crazy was looking on eBay for sellers in my city and contacted a flipper who bought my collection for Monero. I just have a wallet on my phone, what is the best way to trade cryptocurrency that doesn’t require ID and isn’t trackable? I want to invest in like 5 quality coins with good potential then forget about them until the next bull run.

Most Bitcoiners completely lost it. They don't even recognize that the one application that was crucial in Bitcoin's rise in the first place is completely shifting to Monero.

ETH is dependent on its competition not getting their act together and some Dapps becoming great successes. Defi is definitely the hot shit but on aggregate merely extending speculator's balance sheets. Also, most normies have no idea about the tail-risk they are exposing themselves.
Anyway, nobody is buying a car or paying real-world loans with Dai or whatever theoretically liquid token. The "money" is only being used to prop prices up and inflate this market. Eventually, regulators are going to catch up and once people feel the heat they will know where to hide.

Good luck anon! I sold my MMO assets ( including Runescape gold too!) to buy ~8k DMG early on, moved it into PNK, then YFI, now I'm at nearly 6 figures. Depending on how much money you have you'd want to put that money into very low cap shitcoins, but if you can afford a nice stack of LINK that is the safe option. I'm trying to pump my way to a 10k stack myself.

Pokemom cards are only valuable to a small portion of people that will never grow any more. People the enjoyed pokemon cards as a child are around 25-45 years old now and have the money to spend on their cardboard nostalgia cards. Once those people hit their mid 50s and want to sell their collections for boats and vacation homes the price will plummet and be utterly worthless when they are all dead.

This generational nostalgia pattern has repeated itself with most of these pop culture items in the past though. Old comic books are big now because comic books of the same characters were big for the generation that is now around that age bracket. How much are people paying for pre-NES gaming products vs post-NES products now? The former used to be worth a ton but they aren't anymore. Pokemon isn't going anywhere, so the value of these cards won't go to 0, but you're crazy if you think future generations will value them equally or more than the one that grew up with them.

>> No.22040674

>>22040203
true. The stuff that's really valuable now was often considered trash in the past. Old tobacco baseball cards are worth thousands or even millions now because most of them got thrown away. Old saloon tokens and liquor bottles are often worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars because they were literal trash when they were made. Most of them didn't survive being burned, shot, or dumped.

stuff made specifically for collecting and sold in huge quantities has limited appeal and tends to lose value after the generation that collected it moves on. Pogs or tulips or whatever, they fade from memory and probably won't ever return until most of them have been tossed in the trash.

DO NOT BUY XRP ANON PLEASE. IT IS A TRAP TO SCAM NOOBS. THE HIRED SHILLS ALWAYS TARGET NOOBS.

BTC/ETH is the safest for longterm wealth protection/growth. Most beginner friendly portfolio. It won’t make 100x gains in a year but it also won’t go to 0.

LINK Is an ok coin to put some money in, don’t put more than 15-20%. Its a way bigger risk than BTC/ETH regardless of what the other anons say. Its not a sure thing.

DeFi coins (BZRX, YFI, SUSHI, AAVE, SNX) are all really hot right now and will probably keep having the biggest gains. Don’t put more than 15-20% in these.

DO NOT TRUST ANYBODY SHILLING YOU SPECIFIC COINS TO GO ALL IN ON. THEY ARE SCAMMING YOU.

I have been in crypto for 5 years and want you to succeed man. DO NOT TRUST PEOPLE SHILLING YOU ONE COIN.
