21985204 No.21985204 [Reply] [Original]

Good morning chums.

The AMPL resurgence is looking pretty great these last couple days. How are you guys feeling about the impending sellwalls? Will we be able to pierce 1 dollar tonight after our last negative rebase?

It's really just a natural wall around 1 dollar that will form. It's been rejected a few times now.

>impending sellwalls
we've been below $1 for the better part of a month. I think 80% of the weak hands already bailed. clearly new money coming in isn't going to sell at $1.
Once we break a buck, the 80% weak hands will jump back in.
tldr; dont think sellwall will be much of a factor.

there is no "fix" its just the way pools operate.
the pool rebalances itself by traders taking arbitrage opportunities, so if you assume a 50/50 pool when net asset value of A exceeds 50% of total value that will be sold to gain B.

The end result is that: You will gain both Ampl and Link in uneven proportion less the arbitrage . However if you are net long on both coins, then it doesn't matter you are effectively selling one high to acquire more of the other while low....not having to pay fees to do so, allowing traders to pay those fees and time the market for you.

This is why stablecoins are popular pair partners, because then half of your balance is "buffered" and you basically buy sell the other coin in an automated fashion as prices rise / fall.

Yes, high iq understanding is that these liquidity pools are basically inside-out index funds.
What I mean is this: Imagine you started your own index fund: 50% gold / 50% btc - as your net asset value changed you would need to rebalance. If btc zooms, you would need to pay fees to sell btc and buy gold to remain with your stated allocation.
These "pools" are basically inside-out index funds. You simply provide the liquidity, and the market trades between your positions for you, traders paying the fees to reshuffle your allocation.
Yes, you may lose bits of arbitrage from moment to moment but if you are long both you don't care. If btc booms 10x the price next year, you simply gain 10x the amount of gold. If the following year btc falls 50% then you "buy the dips" from your gold supply. You do this with no effort and no fees.

If you are interested in dollar-cost averaging in or out of a position, then choose a stablecoin as the other partner, that way you will buy all dips and sell all booms.

Once you get your brain around it, you realize the power (and why legacy nigger-tier finance is dead).

I want to subscribe to your news letter. Seriously. May I ask a couple q's? Where do you get your crypto information? What is the safest/mainstream coin/exchange to hold DeFi on for a professional? I've got friends in legacy nigger-tier finance that just wont trust my uniswap gems. It's like they just wont even listen to anything that they didn't learn in school or through 20 yrs of experience in the industry. How do I reach these keks?
