Dunno if coinbase generally demands payment in exchange for a listing. If paid only, iota would have a hard time as their status as non profit organisation makes impossible to pay for listings. Either community pays for it or coinbase adds it due to revenue from trading volume.

Regardless of that, Coinbase has a public set of requirements which tokens need to have in order to have a chance to get listed. Decentrisation is one of them. Therefore, due to the coordinator node, a listing is not yet possible.
