I don't really know that part of the industry anon so I can't really give you specific advice. I'd consider at least going to interview for that other job and in the interview you can grill them to see what the job is like and what your duties would be compared to your old job. If you want the job after that then go for it, if not just say you don't think it would be a good fit and thanks for their time. One thing i'd think about is what qualities of the old job did you enjoy/find fulfilling and look for something aligned with that. If you are just focused on money then look at where these companies are having the biggest problems in your area of expertise and come up with a solution that makes their lives easier.
